  1. You're confident Steven Taylor can handle Suarez and Sturridge? I'm happy to admit I rate Mapou higher than Taylor and Williamson, not sure that should be such an issue. It's not. It's just Colo and Taylor are a proven decent partnership and MYM was absolutely raped by DS last time round. Colo was raped by Suarez last time he played them. We should go Williamson & Taylor.
  2. Premier League rules state that pitches have to be 105m x 68m unless it's impossible to meet those requirements.
  3. I thought the premier league changed the rules so all pitches had to be the same size?
  4. Look how defensive we've gone. There was no one supporting Cisse within 30 yards.
  5. Went and sat down on the bench. Would have though if he was injured he would have gone for treatment.
  6. It's good to see Tiote just playing it simple. If he sticks to that he can be useful.

    Loïc Remy

Him, Cabaye, Sissoko and Debuchy all are. Has Ben Arfa fell out with the national management again or just overlooked? What you mean? Just not sure if he's played under Deschamps or not, remember had a bust up with Blanc after Euro's and had a disciplinary meeting and can't remember him being back in since. Just wondering if there is still a grudge from that or their past history is stopping him from being selected. Deschamps was manager of Marseilles when he joined us.
  8. Yeah, I thought he was ok, in the second half anyway. Was also far from the worst defender in our team in the first half.
  9. What in the hell is this rubbish? Hes not been a direct threat on the left himself. He's scored two goals in one start from the left.
  10. Might have been posted but the official site says it's Gouffran right, Ben Arfa left with Remy down the middle.
  11. I'd agree with this, but not 6-8 weeks. If Debuchy doesn't make a marked improvement in the next 2-3 matches, he needs to sit for youth. I also don't understand the Santon criticisms at all. He had a poor second half of last season but was very useful in 2012 and has looked very solid and athletic thus far this season. As someone mentioned, he's the same age as Dummett and has made a big contribution to the team since his arrival here. I think that Santon is comfortably our best fullback, I just think there could be a much higher ceiling in his ability if he can learn to play right back as he just does not have a left foot (though he seems to be trying a bit more this season).
  12. Fair enough, maybe i'm being too knee jerk, but there certainly has to be a point where Debuchy loses his place if his performance level does not improve and Santon at right back might be a risk but one worth taking in my opinion (and the only option if Debuchy does lose his place). I'd also drop Cisse for Gouffran while i'm at it. Cisse has been the clear weak point in the team so far.
  13. I wouldn't, the same was said about defenders last season and more often than not somebody would come in and people wanted them out next game. Dummett looks good but he's got a lot to learn before he should be willingly thrown in against Premiership teams. For me, Debuchy has been pretty consistently poor this season, including last night. I am not writing him off altogether but when you have a player clearly not performing he needs to be dropped. That alongside the fact that Santon's lack of a left foot is really frustrating me and I think affecting our attacks and the fact the Dummett has played well the 3 times he's been on the pitch means that I would take the chance. We can't just stick with Debuchy while he's playing poorly just because the other option isn't experienced. And Dummett may have things to learn but he's shown a maturity and well roundedness to his game when i've seen him and the only way this'll develop is by getting some games.
  14. I'd personally drop Debuchy now. Santon at right-back and Dummett at left-back.
  15. I disagree as the comment about "evaluating the squad" heavily implies that we won't be fielding a first team in these competitions. It's not particularly news but the whole thing reads like a total lack of ambition and year on year mediocrity.
  16. I'm with this line up. But I'd push Ben Arfa and Remy up more to a 4-3-3 but I assume that is what you are doing. Yeah, I was just trying to make it look pretty.
  17. I can understand giving Tiote, Marveux & Gouffran game time. Even Sammy to a certain extent, but it'd be suicide to just change the whole side round. We should give some key reserve players a bit of game time and look at options for players that aren't performing. No more than that. Krul Santon Mbiwa Colocinni Dummett Tiote Anita Ben Arfa Marveux Remy Gouffran That mixes things up plenty to look at options and still gives us a side prepared for winning the game.
  18. I haven't written Debuchy off but when players under perform they need to be dropped. In the league cup i'd go with mostly the same team as against Hull Except with Dummett in for Debuchy (and Santon swapping sides), Gouffran in for Cisse and Marveux or Vuckic in for Cabaye (i'd prefer Marveux but I don't think Pardew seems him there at all). Then these players know that they are playing for these positions. A good game against Leeds can get them a start against Everton.
  19. Based on a quick google, 13 games managed 14 players signed. So yes.
  20. I think i'd go: Krul Santon Williamson MYM Dummett Bigirimana Tiote Marvuex Vuckic Sammy Gouffran Though it might be more sensible to play Cisse upfront, get Gouffran out side and play Marveux behind Cisse. Really want to see Santon and Dummett as the fullback options and Gouffran as the forward as while i'm not writing off Debuchy and Cisse, you need to drop them when they are regularly not performing.
  21. This is what i'd do. Though i'd test it out first against Leeds.
  22. I'd certainly drop Cisse for Gouffran for the next game, i'd also put Santon at right-back and Dummet at left back. I'd stick with MYM and Colo though. I'd play Dummet, Santon at full back and Gouffran centre forward against Leeds and see how they perform. Hopefully well enough to then go in against Everton.
