  3. From the ever reliable NOTW: TOON PLOT DECO GRAB By Ray Ryan NEWCASTLE will offer Emre to Barcelona in a bid to win the race for Portuguese superstar Deco. Toon officials will talk with representatives of Barca and Deco this week in a bid to lure the midfielder to St James' Park. New Toon owner Mike Ashley wants a global superstar at the club and has Deco high on his list. Newcastle will try and finalise the signing of defender Juliano Belletti this week and hope to discuss Deco during those talks. A Toon source revealed: "It is no secret Mike Ashley wants a high profile player at the club and Deco fits the bill perfectly. "The club plan to talk with Barcelona this week to see if the deal can be achieved and are ready to offer Emre plus around £8million in cash." Deco has always insisted he wants to play in the Premier League and is understood to be keen on a move to Tyneside. Toon boss Sam Allardyce is also tracking Reading defender Nicky Shorey and is ready to bid £5.75m this week. He is also on the lookout for a new keeper with Shay Given injured and has targeted Chelsea No2 Carlo Cudicini on loan. Allardyce said: "We do not have an experienced goalkeeper so I will be looking for one over the next couple of days. "Initially it will be on loan but we want one with the right experience."
  4. Same team as last week with Owen for Solano on the bench.
  5. Babelfish gibberish but it looks like they got their information from the Daily Mail! The Newcastle offers 4.5 million euros by Julian Belletti 16/8/2007 S.B. Belletti counts on a supply of the Newcastle Related information the Milan reactivates the interest by Motta the Barça does not accept the supply and the player requests a very high wage to print to send forum to value to increase text to diminish text If Tuesday the azulgrana defense of the Barça, Julian Belletti aimed that his brother was in Barcelona and at the moment they were listening to the supplies that them had arrived from others clubs, only yesterday the English press, becoming echo of the words of the Brazilian, aimed at that one of clubs that had asked for Belletti in the last days was the Newcastle. According to the information published in England, the club of Allardyce would have offered to the Barça 3 million pounds, or what is the same, 4.5 million euros. But the Barça would have rejected the supply. In addition, Belletti would not either be arranged to facilitate the negotiation or to press so that they let to him march. According to the English press, the zaguero would have requested to the Newscastle 50,000 pounds to the week, that is to say, 75,000 euros; a list that the English club would consider than excessive more considering the 31 years of the player and the few minutes that this one disputed the last campaign with the Barça. In any case, it seems that the affirmations of Belletti had a good foundation.

  7. Sam's out to splash the cash By Brian Mcnally 12/08/2007 Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce has pledged to make another big splash in the transfer market - even if he fails to unload Kieron Dyer. Allardyce insists the midfielder is still for sale at £8million despite the shock collapse of his move to West Ham. But the Magpies chief says any new signings are likely to be foreign because he believes the English market has dried up. He said: "Yes, Kieron Dyer is still for sale. But we've had no contact from any other clubs. "It's in West Ham's hands. If they rescue the situation, that's that. If they don't, he stays here. "But right now, if Dyer didn't go and we found someone suitable to buy, we would get him. That's been proven in the last week by us spending the best part of £11m on Alan Smith and Jose Enrique without Dyer going. "That was very encouraging for all of us. I expect to get a few more players in before August 31. I'm looking abroad now because there's nothing left in this country."
  8. Ramage, Cacapa, Shola, Solano and Fraser Forster on the bench.
  9. This was on the internet last week: http://www.goal.com/en-us/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=364287
  10. Looks like Dave was right - the #$%&$#"! radio's just gone off.
  11. What's he saying? He wished "Mike" and all the supporters the best. Said he would have done things different with hindsight but didn't elaborate. Naturally said "Er", "Erm", "Arh" etc. every few seconds.
  12. I'm in Japan and I'm listening to Radio Newcastle o.k. Cut and paste Skirge's link on page 3 and everything should be fine.

  15. Enrique has joined Toon Aug 5 2007 by Steve Brown, Sunday Sun NEWCASTLE have signed one left-back, according to reports in Spain, but could be on the verge of landing another – and it’s NOT Leighton Baines. La Liga side Villarreal claim to have agreed a £4 million, five-year deal with United for Spanish Under-21 international Jose Enrique; their club website read: “We want to thank Jose Enrique for his contributions to the club and wish him much luck in his footballing career.” But after the Magpies’ £5 million bid for Baines appeared to fail, Sevilla’s Serbian star Ivica Dragutinovic remains hopeful of securing a £2.5 million, three-year move to Tyneside after rejecting the offer of a new contract with the UEFA Cup holders. “I am happy in Sevilla but the English offer is very important in all aspects, not exclusively in terms of money,” said the 31-year-old. “It really is very complicated to reject the chance to join Newcastle. I have always wanted to play in England, the league is strong and for men like me the physical aspect is not a problem. “I know English football and Newcastle is one of the historic clubs and the objective will be to fight for a European position. The coach (Sam Allardyce) tried to sign me for Bolton during my stay in Belgium (with Standard Liege) so I am not unknown to him.”
  16. The only positive memory I have was of a decent sandwich shop in the market place. It may have changed since I was there but it was run down and full of knuckleheads, most of which used to work for me! I can't remember the name of the pub - it was near Sandways industrial estate - but there was one night when one rather inebriated bloke took bets from his mates who could punch out the most amount of his teeth. Allegedly, I didn't see it and it's hearsay but the same bloke ate a bleach ring from one of the urinals!
  17. You a leeds lad then? I live 20 minutes from Leeds but i'm not that broad Whereabouts are you? Just for the record, i don't live in Wakefield... it's a f****** shithole , don't know if you've heard of it but it's town called Ossett Are you a sporting boy? Ossett Sporting boys no mate, i play for Ossett Town against teams like Rothwell, Pudsey, Farsley Celtic, all tossers tbh I worked in Ossett about 10 years ago and no offence but it was a horrible experience. I couldn't wait to drive up the M1 every Friday night.
  18. With Smith arriving some folk on another website seem to think Shola's off to Smogland.
  19. He's wearing 17 on his picture on gettyimages.
  20. Mark Delaney would be this year's Sibierski - everyone would be distraught at the thought of signing him. If it's true (let's hope not) it's obvious Sam's got no cash to spend.
  21. From "over the road": A very good source has informed me that we have four defensive-minded trialists on board. Mark Delaney , a defender called 'Rivas' from Real Betis, someone from Switzerland who has been given the name 'Henry'?, and of course Cacapa has been invited to train with us whilst in talks.
