With all the genuine dross we have had to put up with over the years and the fertile ground for critisism that brings with it, I find it incredible that people choose to direct their critisism toward one of the few truly class acts we have left.

We have players who cannot contribute well enough when we are in possesion, yesterday namely Simpson, Williamson and especially Shola, Even when we were on top first half it was only the exceptional performance of the others that allowed us to carry these three. We need to replace them if we are to push on and win these sort of games on a more regular basis. I have stuck up for Shola in the past but he was a hindrance yesterday and we would have been better with ten men sadly. As for Williamson and Simpson, they are like rabbits caught in headlights when in possesion of the ball.

This guy is a role model and example to his peers of how to be a professional footballer. I am sure he could easily play for any team in the world. He would even improve Barcelona IMO. I love to watch him play and am so pleased he belongs to our team, he is worth the enrance money alone. A replacement would cost many millions to match in quality. Please Mr. Pardew get him to sign for the rest of his career.

Watched the goal over a few times this morning. How well does Shola do to make something out of nothing as Jonas ball in to him was so difficult he should have no chance of doing anything with it.

He must have been playing through an injury towards the end as all the subs had been used.

Its a good job they were poor up front. We took ages to get going today. If only we had more than Jonas & Ben Arfa able to carry the ball offensively past an opponent. As a result we look very competent in posession when working the ball back to Krul in order to thrape forward. This is the first game where I have not missed Enrique because Santon is superb. Perch never put a foot wrong when he came on so it would be good to lay off the lad now. Overall we can be happy at grinding out a result when not at our best.

Despite a lifetime of waiting patiently for success, it is surprising how quickly we turn on our own players. History has shown us time and again that some young players can take a whole season of patience before they come good at a new club. It could be Obertan is another one of these.

I thought their defending was very impressive. They snuffed out virtually every city attack with ease 2nd half. Unlike our jittery back line against a poor Liverpool team. As for Sessegnon, he is a right handful and looks a great player.
