  1. Spur of the moment frustration as he wants to win so much. He will be gutted he has done it but should benefit from a rest and come back raring to go. Routledge should seize his chance because he looked good for us and was axed quite quickly after a couple of wayward games. He has the ability to nail down the right wing spot if he can reproduce his early form.
  2. Looks like a 3 match ban is a certainty.
  3. Normal service has been resumed. ah well it was nice while it lasted.
  4. We might have known this would happen tonight, so typical of our club.
  5. Early change for once when things are going wrong is encouraging
  6. Argentina must have some fantastic defenders for him not even to make their squad.

I was surprised at how limited a footballer he was in the game at our place. I expected a dominant busy midfield presence but he was pretty inept. He's such a little bloke too, adding to his insignificant appearance. Difficult to see what his attributes are. Was that a one off?

He was playing poorly but has got an acceptable level of mobility back into his game in the last month which allows him to keep up with the play once more. He has got himself fit, it is as simple as that While he stays that way he will reap the rewards and adulation his recent performances undoubtedly deserve.
  9. The boos are from the press box as its fucked up there plotline so far.
  10. We'll have to start better than the League cup game. I know the team is different but they had 4 goal attempts inside the first 48seconds, and it was us who kicked off! Can't start like that again.
  11. Henceforth should be refered to as 'Sir Steve Bruce' after last Sunday. That'll wind the Sunderland fans up nicely.
  12. Spartak Moscow must have some squad, McGeady is no.64 and another player has 99 on his back!
  13. Loved his attention to detail yesterday. He knows Williamsons confidence in possesion at home is fragile, so he spent 20mns in his tracksuit out on the pitch working one to one with him ignoring all others, on heading and kicking the ball away, right up until they went back in 10mns before kick off You could tell he was saying this is what your good at son, lets get in the zone, you can beat them all. superb. Quick change into the suit complete with poppy was a good touch afterwards.

I had been dreading going in to that game with him in the team. I would like to state now that I humbly apologise for my past negativity and am now officially in awe of him after that performance. He seemed to be everywhere yesterday. Is it possible he has got himself fitter in the space of the last couple of weeks?

Prodigous leap and turn of pace. Left defender and keeper for dead to latch onto through ball first half then finished weakly, this will improve with gametime. Potentially better than Carrol, Still getting stronger IMO. Ahead of Lovenkrands, Best & Xisco.
