Arry getting mugged again !
-
We used to regularly put 7 past these. The most overhyped club in Britain. We're probably going to beat them the way this unpredictable season is going.
-
It looked a really nasty challenge in the replay, Not surprised its done serious damage.
-
I was surprised we did so well, he must have had a good look at himself and turned his game around because he owed it to himself and to us to earn his money and put in a good performance, especially after his capitulation at West Brom. Pleasantly surprised with yesterday, even Smith must have started well.

Sunderland fan who shoved Harper has been taken to Newcastle training ground this morning by his Dad to apologise to him.
-
Opinions, I guess will always differ. I thought he was superb yesterday, worked like a horse and was very clever for our goal. The two clear chances he had should have hit the target but in fairness he didn't do a lot wrong as both scraped the woodwork. Poor Shola - runs himself into the ground for the team but gets remembered for the things he did wrong rather that the vast majority he did excellently. Shola looked really good to me yesterday, but I am just going off the extended Sky highlights.

Is this true? Tell me its not please. We must have some young members of the playing staff who can actually run, why have we gone for the failed 'no legs formula once again. I wont be following this now, defeat guaranteed.
-
Stevenage return to mediocrity. Chesterfield must have some players in midfield who can run a bit.
-
Can anyone remember that episode in the first half yesterday when he was just inside their half when he received the ball from his right took a touch then gently rolled the ball forward to the grateful Stevenage player standing just off him. It was a particularly low point and combined with the collective groan around the room of the people I was with it summed up the day in one instant.

After West Brom I never want to see Guthrie the bottler play again.

FA reject unfair dismissal appeal from NUFC for Cheik Tiote
Doug replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
I do hope the one who was punched after the game was the one who rolled around pretending to be hurt after tripping over Tiote after he had won the ball. -
If Tiote is out who is going to do the midfield running. If the answer is Smith & Nolan then prepare the largest wager on a home win you can afford, then at least ease the pain of defeat with some winnings from your bet.
-
Why should it work? These Div 2 lads are fit, strong athletes They won the Conference last year to gain promotion to the football league. They obviously train hard and maintain their fitness. Smith and Nolan in combination cannot work because they are not athletes, it is time these truths were picked up and acted upon by our so called expert management. If they did not see it before they at least will do now.
-
Well Pardew, you have well and truly set your early credit rating back to zero after yesterday. Anyone on here could have told you that putting Smith and Nolan together as the engine room at the heart of your midfield was waving the white flag before a ball was kicked. To do it for such a high profile potential banana skin tie like this where we are going to be made to suffer with re runs for decades to come was the height of folly. We all know we have the players to have battered them yesterday but chose to leave them out and let them make history instead. Unforgiveable.

Too good to go down, Sounds familiar.

Spurs are media darlings so the agenda is always set in their favour by their fans in the press and TV. In the real world they are not a bigger club than us and are only going to win the league in 'arrys ead'. They can't afford Andy Carroll. Instead we should turn the tables and show an interest to the media in signing Gareth Bale.

What this thread highlights is the impatience shown by our fans towards players preventing them from gaining confidence and improving. The treatment of Perch in particular has been typical of this, and is evident in this thread. He really is not as bad as he is painted on here but 'mud sticks' and the crushing expectation can stifle a players chances with us. We should give the lad a break. Look at Best for example, he has been criticised just as harshly, but is about to prove us all wrong I hope.

Get tiote off and wrap him up in cotton wool
-
Another Sky inspired non story. Yet another once very good player who is now shite so would be no use to us anyway.
-
MOTM v Wigan. Went past them at will time and time again second half. Needs a simple chant making up. the 'oh gutierez' one is too complex it seems. After one particularly good run at the end of the game earning a pressure relieving free kick near the corner flag, Our lot started chanting Jose (ole) when i'm sure they wanted a Jonas chant but no one could be bothered to improvise one. shame.

I've been nagged into going to this, Defeat now guaranteed.
-
He looks every inch like the 'Dog And Duck' pub teams fat, balding, beer swilling player. Hard to believe he is as good as he is/was (delete as appropriate).
-
Undoubtedley a brilliant player but marred by being another with poor attitude so it would be a gamble. Once again I will be amazed if Ashley allows any funds whatsoever to be spent.

I wonder if we are up to competing with the likes of these. Anyone who watched Wolves at Liverpool the other night would appreciate the pace and energy that is required at this level. Tiote is the only real grafter we have in the middle of the park. Neither Nolan, Barton and certainly not Smith or Guthrie have the energy levels to match some of the scrappers down at the bottom, that is what worries me. We never seem to have learned the lesson that the Premier league absolutely does not allow you to carry passengers in terms of fitness. To think some people actually welcomed signing a 36 year old Sol Cambell amazes me and even now some are talking up signing Keane! The latest in the queue of has beens with his best days behind him. Lose to Wigan and we are fucked without 2 more Tiote type athletes in The transfer window IMO.
