  1. I actually quite like Shelvey, but if we can get him off the physio table and off the wage bill, and replace him with someone more dependable it’s a no-brainer.
  2. Great player, but he’ll probably not see much of an actual football pitch the next couple of years. Shame
  3. Well, clearly they are wrong because both clubs have officially confirmed an obligation to buy, albeit conditional in Forest’s announcement
  4. Perhaps Boehly has come up with an ingenious way to stop us and others from being competitive, consisting of basically buying any player any other team is ever linked with.
  5. I have nothing but admiration for Chris Wood’s character, but at the same time I’m very glad to see the back of him now with the prospect of bringing in a player of higher potential and/or ability. On balance I accept his time with us was a relative success as he contributed to making us hard to beat, even though from an offensive point of view he was clearly not quite up to scratch.
  6. I will never understand VAR. How is that not a fucking penalty?
  7. Wood out, Brazilian wonderkid in. is this real life?
  8. Decent pen shout, that push on Haaland
  9. They’re getting Chris Wood and they’ll be thankful for it God dammit
  10. He’d pretty much guarantee you 30 odd goals a season for the next three to four years, as well as being excellent in the build up, but nah, not good enough for us. Not that we have any chance of getting him mind.
  11. He’s good enough to play Messi at the WC and mess up Barca in one of his first competitive games ever, but can he cut it on a wet, cold day in Stoke Edinburgh? Seemingly the answer is no. in all seriousness, not really a surprise if he’s under the weather having moved from Australian summer to Scottish winter last week.
  12. Moved to Newcastle for work in summer of 2004. Got chatting to a colleague at the coffee machine about the upcoming preseason tournament that weekend involving my home team (Feyenoord). The guy, now a friend, said he could arrange me a ticket to sit with him and a few mates, so I duly called the missus that I would not be traveling back to NL that weekend. Got the bug, managed to get a season ticket for the two years we lived there (my wife eventually moved over and ended up staying years after me, doing her PhD). Haven’t managed to get to any games these last few years, but hoping to do so later this season.
  13. I’m genuinely baffled at how anyone could have watched that second half and come away with the impression that Saint-Maximin was lazy. I mean, he tried things that didn’t come off and lost the ball a few times trying to do too much, but he was double and at times triple marked by Fulham (allowing others space elsewhere on the pitch), got a few decent crosses in, laid off the ball to Wilson in the first minute where perhaps he should have been more selfish, had a decent effort that just flashed wide and pressed like a loon even to the point of winning the ball from their left back with a flying tackle in the closing stages of the game. Laziness, you’re having a laugh.
  14. No it’s not. It’s your opinion, and that’s a fact.
  15. I applaud them for building the right way, developing talent and being patient with their manager. Hope they clinch it. Lessons to be learned for many other clubs from how they’ve approached things
  16. Lloris looked like a competition prize winner there
  17. Hope for a speedy recovery. Will be a huge miss and probably force the club’s hand into moving in the transfer market you’d think
