Other than the trophy opportunity, I tend to agree.

Ramos, Jackson and Delap all under 25. Nunez 26. The first two feel like they’ve been around forever and Nunez in his twilight years. I fancy Ramos, but not the price we’d have to pay. Can see him at Chelsea. Delap would be fine, but is he even an upgrade on Osula at this point?

Yeah, it’s all shite from our growth perspective. This is where I hope Hopkinson can use his connections to grow commercial revenue to make up the gap. Sucks that we can’t spend at will, but the strategy around SCR limits is interesting to navigate. One thing I back Eddie for is player development and I can see why the club has stuck with him as we shift club operations and leadership roles. He provides player revenue opportunities other managers wouldn’t.

Does this still happen if Chelsea and Everton lose?

I think we’re in a unique position where we can grow revenue (as we have the last few seasons) to spend over the 70% SCR UEFA limit. Do we go to the 115% allowable (with luxury tax)? No, but I don’t see us staying at our current 68% SCR next season. Think we’ll go close to 85% and earmark some players who will be available for transfer if we qualify for Europe the season after to get us back to 70% or close to it.

A deeper, balanced squad, in hindsight. We’ll get what we want for Gordon, I reckon and hopefully Wilson spends well this summer to strengthen us for now and the future.

Depends on their SCR situation and I reckon they're up against the allowable threshold for Conference League.

Not worth it for us to play in Europe, our spending would be limited to 70% of earnings rather than 85% (we can actually go to 115% and pay a 'luxury tax') with a pure domestic campaign. I would rather we have that headroom to recalibrate next year and go again the year following.

I was more upset at the reaction to it than the goal. It was unreal.
