Fuck off, Pardew.
-
That was really good!

Seen that a few times now. Is it really low res just for me?

Hey at least you took it like a champ!

In times gone by Rory Smith has always had a lot of time for Newcastle, I think, and has generally had some fondness for us (and Leeds) as one club cities. Changed a bit with our impending surge towards cup wins etc. The smug thing is an epidemic on the mainstream podcast circuit. They've all got it; at one end of the spectrum there's the Guardian one (i.e. the worst of the worst; Liew/Ronay/etc), all the Athletic ones, and then stuff like MNC which I find isn't too bad (Sutton's just a bit of a contrary div).

This is such an amazing video but I'm gasping for something which lingers on the limbs for more than a second. They're such incredible scenes. Love that post from @Chris_R BTW.

I'm comparing magic with magic but, of the two, Burn's was the more incredible moment for me. If the gusto behind the Isak celebrations was accountable to the sense of "holy shit, we're actually gonna do it," then that is what I'd already felt with Burn's. I believed we'd win the cup and that goal was an emphatic confirmation. I also knacked my throat when celebrating the disallowed effort, so I was in physical pain cheering the decisive 'third'. I love that we also got to celebrate the final whistle like a goal; the jeopardy of their late push really elevated that moment into an emotional crescendo. Of course - it would've been amazing even if we were 4-0 up in injury time - but FT on Sunday was an intense collision between relief and a very new/unique euphoria. Epic. Just epic. I'm ravenous for more now and don't fear becoming desensitised should more glory come our way, but we'll never feel anything quite like that again. It's impossible.

Literally can't believe they're going with this announcement shit. Really doubling down on the misery of the whole thing.

I think he's courted a lot of unnecessary stick down the years but he's been absolutely brutal when featuring this season. Have a lot of love for the bloke but I've definitely reached the point where I hope he gets a good move; if he needs a run of games to be any use then ultimately he's not much use to us. E.

One of the best bits of our whole performance. How we held our nerve with such confidence was a magnificent thing - couldn't enjoy it at the time, but watching it back; fantastic. There's a crucial moment immediately before that compilation starts where they punt it forward for the first time and Schär bring it down with such composure. They were all just so on it.

Iirc that was the first time I welled up. Knew then that something momentous was brewing.

The bloated format and expectation of progress undermines that now though. Beating PSG was seismic for many reasons, including the stakes being so high. Didn't matter in the end, but at the time...

Liberty Rooms absolutely blasted some shite pop at ear-splitting volume the moment the final whistle went. so unnecessary.

Gagging for a Europa League run. I get the arguments in favour but I'm no more endeared by the Champions League despite our soiree there last season. The Europa is a better competition with significant prestige and holds some painful memories for us to vanquish. I've all the time in the world for the Conference but it's totally undermined if the PL entrants are the default winners.

Was a pleasure to take all that in with you folks yesterday. Will remember those celebrations forever.
-
He's delivered our two most iconic headers of modern times. The PSG one was arguably better because he climbs so well and really thumps it, but doesn't have the satisfaction of the net rippling.

Feels like bragging about a bet without showing your slip beforehand, but I feel like I can say now that I genuinely saw that coming. Didn't dare write it down in earnest, but I really did believe it. It just felt like the natural conclusion to what is very much the post-takeover era, before the guard presumably changes quite a bit in the summer. That group of people have given absolutely everything to that competition since 2022 - it feels like our name has been on it for ages now. To have beaten the teams we have along the way, and for only an unfortunate rick to have kept us out of the final last year. After those amazing performances across the semi I just knew we'd turn up. Such a richly deserved win.

Absolutely delighted that he's secured his legacy with his recent form back in the team, and he was exceptional yesterday along with the rest of them. Great man.
-
Anderson in the crowd is quite funny, like. We knocked his team out on the way to this.
-
Would love to hear some accounts of what it was like yesterday. Suffice to say it put to rest the disappointment of the last one?
-
Can't believe he didn't win me £75 for that, ffs.
-
Some people are never happy. I don't think it's that
-
Keegan will forever and always be number one but Eddie wins the everyone else cup hands down now.
-
We ain't playing in the Conference League next season, lads.

Made me look an absolute mug today after some recent slagging. The early part of a game can be so important and today was an example of that - and he was instrumental in that big start. Flawless thereafter, too. Well played that man.
