I haven't watched that video but hasn't Fabregas' success there been built on fully having the keys to the castle? If so he wouldn't exactly represent the key change we might theoretically be after when Howe eventually goes.

Feel like Gordon has a bit of a dilemma ATM. Clearly he sees his future centrally and it's the position he wants to play in more than any other, but for as long as Kane is in the fold he's getting nowhere near that role for England. Arguably even for any of the clubs he might picture himself playing for, if indeed he has sights elsewhere. Who's buying him as a striker this summer? Arsenal, at a push? That dilemma therefore extends to us and I wouldn't be astonished if he's our first choice CF next season. I don't hate the idea tbh. If he sorts his finishing out then we could be looking at a very, very good striker in the long run.

Our big players aren't suddenly on the market by accident, like. The rules (and the inevitability of the likes of Tonali wanting to leave) dictate that we have to sell. I'm not convinced by Hopkinson but framing that aspect as a gaffe demonstrates a pretty wild ignorance of our present situation. It's hardly like it's the first time either. The week preceding this break was clearly an absolute disaster but in the ten days preceding that we'd: come within a hair of beating Barcelona, won at Stamford Bridge, and embarrassed Man Utd with ten men. The players not giving a fuck has simply never been a thing under Howe, ever. Sometimes they've underperformed, very occasionally they've left something out there - but 'not giving a fuck', just nah. It's never happened.

Schär won't be going anywhere and rightly so. We can't buy literally a whole new squad and he's still a very good player. Don't have to go back many pages to see folks singing his praises just this season.

It was such an exciting time when he first arrived. You were scratching your eyes watching players of his and Bruno's quality after years of middling to shite in almost every position. The elevation in quality was so stark.

Absolutely love the guy and is - by an absolute landslide - the best RB in my lifetime; also in the conversation for best defender.
