Thought it was ridiculously overzealous and I was incredibly doubtful of the process Oliver went through to make the call (not a chance he waves a red pre-VAR imo), but overturning it at this point seems very dicey. It undermines the ref, makes another mockery of VAR and will fuel yet more aggro from the public. The whole culture is so fucked and it's entirely of the authorities' of own making. The Referee Show rumbles on.

I heard he was only useful in that purple patch!

Was just coming here to say this myself after watching the highlights for the umpteenth time. He strikes the ball beautifully. That one off the post is just another in what's becoming a long list of agonising "fuck, I wish that had gone in"s, alongside Tonali's effort at Old Trafford most recently.

*Bruno, imo. As depressing as that is.

Explains it here from 03:37.

Dearly hope they decide to just keep him for the rest of the season, whilst they hunt for the next loser not fit to lace Pochettino's boots. Ange has been a hilarious appointment and I'm really keen to see his chickens fully come home to roost in terms of the media. You shouldn't be able to get away with being a cunt to all and sundry so I hope they twist the knife before he inevitably peddled.

Home Times we've gone behind: 5 Wins from those five: 0 Draws from those five: 2 Away Times we've gone behind: 8 Wins from those eight: 4 Draws from those eight : 1 Wasn't sure where to put this but it's interesting that we're so much better at recovering on the road than we are at home. Shows just how important it is that we start well at SJP cos teams know they can dig in there. Guess it goes without saying that we need to address that if we're gonna keep up the CL push.

Really do think slowing the footage down to a tenth of real time adds a whole layer of severity which in reality doesn't exist.
-
There's no intent to hurt him I mean.
-
"Uses excessive force" is obviously ruled out immediately because all he's done is flick a leg out to stop the breakaway. So it comes down to whether or not he's endangered an opponent. If that's endangering an opponent then basically every clumsy challenge is.
-
It's a nice goal for sure. Second one was better though imo. Another brilliant assist; Murphy's touch past the defender is fantastic and the pass is perfect - then an incredible first touch from Isak followed by a top finish. Both goals show our ruthlessness which is always so great to see.
-
Have to say I was expecting a bit more from the third based on people's reactions. Tidy goal, like. Maybe I'm getting desensitised to the quality of some of our players.
-
Crazy decision imo. Unless he's got the ability to view life in slow motion, I can't believe he's informed enough to make that call. It happens in a microsecond and it's not even that bad anyway. There's no intent, he just sticks his leg out to stop the breakaway and catches him. Looks like another case of a ref making call in the hope VAR will correct it if it's wrong, but they won't because it's not wrong enough.

Not seen a kick but important we got a win and we did. Looking forward to seeing the goals.

Thank shit for that

Couldn't agree more. I'm quite happy with my occasional* legit randoms I get off Vinted now. I know no one is doing snides of Torino 19/20 away so it'll be genuine, and it's a lovely shirt for £15. *

Seems the whole bloody game is just rife with chancers. DHGate are the only honest ones out there. Shame about the (alleged) gangs and slavery.

Yeah, the best of those types by a distance. The likes of Away Days and Footy Adventures are sound enough but their videos are so bloated with meaningless shite. She nails it by limiting to ten minutes and always strikes the balance of having something meaningful to say and just objectively presenting the situation.

This report from later in the season sums it up well: https://www.nufc.com/html/2020-21html/2021-03-20brighton-a.html Still there was no interest in sacking him. Man oh man, those days.
-
It's probably why I've never warmed to Willock. I wanted the whole thing to burn but there he is snatching points for us at Anfield, the fucker.

https://www.nufc.com/html/2020-21html/2021-01-23aston-villa-a.html Peak Bruce comments in this one. What a man.

I bet our fans couldn't believe their eyes when Gazza showed up in those pretty lean times.
