  1. No he won't. Cole will be the starting left-back next season, it's blatantly obvious. Mourinho would rather play Cole and hope that he becomes the player he should be (largely due to the big-name status and whole hoo-har of actually getting him), rather than play it safe and go with Bridge. Bridge will always be on the fringe there and he needs to get out asap. Same goes for the likes of Wright-Phillips, Geremi, Sidwell, Ben Haim, etc. Wasted talent.
  2. If we played our full strength team in the Carling Cup like we did with Roeder, and got a Chelsea or an Arsenal in the early rounds, we'd have every chance of winning it. You could say that for every year, i mean even i said it under Glenn, but it's a more realistic prospect this time. The Carling Cup really is very open. Unfortunately, Tottenham, Villa, Everton, Boro and whatnot could all say the same thing. Main point is though that it's so open. Any Premiership team can get to the final in all honesty.
  3. Rather see the reserves played in the FA Cup tbh. I love the FA Cup, but we haven't got a cat in hell's chance of getting anywhere near it. Not saying i want us to play weak teams, just that i'd rather it be in the FAC if any. However, it sounds like Allardyce won't do so in either.
  4. Optimistic Nut's heart rate returns back down to a mellow 150.

Thought it was just 'Bey'. ? Well that's how i pronounce it anyway.
  6. Is that the guy that went to Palermo or Chievo or something after the World Cup, and was hated by like everyone?

Might be because theres been no update and his agent is'nt a gobshite like Rozehnals.
  9. They got him cheap because of his release clause though. Not as cheap as we sold him for like. Either way, he's not worth £9m. The guy should have stayed at Blackburn, no two ways about it.
  10. Can't believe they've made £3m on him. Inflation.
  11. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=475382&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=&title=Emre:+New-look+Magpies+to+soar That's a bit shit.
  12. They like it that way round, then?
  13. I'm off to the Hull one. Can't wait!!! Only my third Newcastle game and my first in three years.
  14. Liverpool for fifth then.
  15. PS, for Kingdawson, a game that immediately springs to mind that you won't have seen, and surely must not have heard of - watch our 5-0 victory over Man United in October 96. This, for me, is just the game that immediately springs to mind. If you want to slate Shearer's link up play and his ability as a player - then watch this match. Because his triple of goals/assists in this game was one of his finests in a black and white shirt, for me. The first of the five - an assist. An absolutely superbly executed, looping header from a corner, rising above about three United defenders to knock it onto Peacock's path to prod it in. The second of the five - another assist. Andy Gray got it spot on; Stanley Matthews at his best couldn't produce a turn of pace and cross as well as Shearer's for this one. Magnificent cross under pressure, right onto Ferdinand's forehead. And the fourth of the five - an assist and a goal. The fourth goal is obviously over-shadowed in this game, simply due to the qualtiy of the others. But the mvoe for this goal was absolutely fantastic. A sprint down the left-wing and out of nowhere, Shearer stops, fooling the defender, and then sprays a long ball all the way to the other wing, for Beardsley to put a cross back in for Shearer to finish. THAT game was Shearer at his peak. Shearer was doing that week in week out. Dimitar Berbatov, a class player that he is nowadays, HASN'T GOT A FUCKING SCRATCH on the Shearer of those years. He got something like five hattricks in his last season at Blackburn n'all. And even in his early thirties, Shearer was still score 25/30 goals 'simply by using his upper body strength'. You utter, utter pleb.
  16. I wouldn't go as far as to say that, but if he clicks with one of Martins or Owen (or both depending on how Sam lines us up), then we could potentially have a 30-goal+ partnership on our hands.
  17. You can't say these forums are boring. @ this thread/Kingdawson.
  18. I'm a Derby fan like you, but with the defense and general team they've got at the moment, and they players they've signed so far (and the players that have departed) they haven't got a cat in hell's chance.
