  1. Because he's currently our best defender at the club and Sam wants him to start over Rozenhal. For how long? Can't see Taylor being first choice come January... So he's first choice at the moment, yes?
  2. Rather we tried to sort Zog out than Duff. rather we tried to sort both out. Who's the alternative, Luque? If we're talking 4-3-3 then there's several options. I wouldn't be against him sorting both out, just if an offer came in around the £5m mark i'd take it without a second thought. Duff has been: absolutely shite whenever he has played. Looked a scratch of his former self. Seemingly can't beat a man or cross a ball. Is a diving bastard. Is a total and utter crock. Is someone else we're paying absolutely boatloads to do fuck all but sit on a table and/or play football badly. Is someone we don't and never needed. The talent's obviously there so if Sam wants to work with him and utilise it, then i won't complain overly much - but i'd rather someone just came in and bought him. Not that they would now, like. You're sure to rebound that with anti-Zog stuff, but N'Zogbia has shown far more promise than Damien Duff ever did, and is someone far more worth working on what with the raw talent, performing exceptionally the season before last, and at such a young age. I can see your generall point, but to say Zog has shown more promise than Duff seems a bit much. Duff over his career has shown much more ability than Zog has, and they were equally shite last season. Zog may have shown more for us that Duffer ever has, but if one of them could be returned to top form I reckon Duff would do us more good. Sorry... i was talking about at Newcastle. Which, to sound bastard-ish, is all i care about in all honesty. I'm not bothered how Duff started out at Blackburn, N'Zogbia has shown far more promise than Duff at Newcastle United. I firmly believe now that it's downhill from Duff - he's hardly got much time to return to his best - and i'd be happy to see him go. N'Zogbia's only 20.

  4. What exactly was it that he said, Mowen?
  5. Geremi, Yobo, Beye, Rozenhal, Baines is a very decent prospect. Just hang onto Babayaro; we could do without having to sign two left-backs.
  6. Yup, Yobo's a great player. If we were going to spend properly on a centre-back from the Premiership, i'd happily see it be Yobo. Not that he'd come, i wouldn't have thought.
  7. Surprised when i heard he was on a free. £2m is an absolutely brilliant deal regardless. But a tiny price... in proportion to Duff's £5m price tag. Hmmm..... Meh, probably nowt. Geremi is surplus at Chelsea tbh.

  10. He can neither beat his man nor cross a ball. 'Past it' doesn't even begin to describe. one poor season, Shearer had 1 under Gullit but seemed to come back alright Not bothered! If we can get a fee anywhere around £5m i'd take it. I was all for him being given time and not flogged instantly, but he's a crock who's legs were already going, and won't be much better now after ANOTHER major injury. And considering he's a player we never needed in the first place, and we've got potentially three other players in the squad who'd fill his role in a 4-3-3, i say just get rid of him, rather than huff and puff trying to make him work. Huff and puff trying to sort N'Zogbia out, regardless of attitude problems. Zoggy's paddies will be a doddle for Sam. BTW - in that poor season under Gullit, Shearer scored 21 goals. take away penalties and Shearer had an average of a goal every 4 games in the league A shit i couldn't give. He scored 21 goals. If we're not counting penalties, Shearer finised around 45 goals off Jackie's record.

    2007-2008

Beginning of the end. Inflation explodes across the Premier League. Peter Ramage will be going for 8 and a half million by 2010.
  13. He can neither beat his man nor cross a ball. 'Past it' doesn't even begin to describe.
  14. wouldn't you like to see Duff under a competent manager first? Rather the Zog tbh. Flog Duff, we never, ever needed him in the first place. Utterly pointless signing and we don't need hindsight to tell us it's one of our most stupid purchases i can think of in the last few years.
  15. Should pay fuck all if he's out for that long. Totally pointless.
  16. Pointless selecting someone like Carr, cos he'll leave anyway. And we could do with hanging onto Baba, rather than forcing ourselves into signing two left-backs. Ramge'll be decent for fifth choice n'all. I'd love to see us make back some of the £5m on Duff.
  17. Not at all. He speaks the truth. Dyer is a waste of oxygen. And £80,000 a week. He costs us £11,430 A DAY. What are you? A mathematician?
  18. Are people actually turning their noses up at Geremi or not, then?

    Club Captain

Given's the only guaranteed automatic starter, so it'll be him; not that i consider him a very good Captain.
  20. Whether he's being brought in as a right-back or not, it doesn't matter, it'd be an excellent signing for a nominal fee. Right-back, right-wing, defensive-mid; all positions which we need another body for, and Geremi offers that. Plus, he's dead silky and a good, skilful player in general. Would be chuffed if we could bring him in.
  21. There is no way we'll get that much "excitement" with Big Sam, it'll be about winning games, not entertaining people sadly I'll take being a fucking good team at the moment.
  22. To be fair to the lad, it's impossible to pick a realistic midfield, without fitting square pegs into round holes, just so you can accommodate Gerrard, Lampard, Essien, Fabregas, Parker, Scholes, Makelele and, and, and... ------------------------------------ Cech ----------------------------------- Finnan --------- Ferdinand ---------------- Terry ---------------- Evra Ronaldo ---------- Gerrard ---------------- Essien ----------- Robben --------------------- Drogba ---------------- Rooney --------------------- ? Will undoubtedly have forgotten about ten top class players.
  23. Not yet, i wouldn't have thought. But he'll be class in the future i reckon.
