Only caught in from 25 minutes so what I saw was a bit of a non-contest but good to see a bit of momentum towards the end of the half. Only real saving grace is we escaped going two goals behind after our heads dropped. Technically still in the game but feels very unlikely that we're getting owt from this.

Mad we didn't even earn a corner out of that break. Sort of stuff that makes your head drop.

Well timed display from WF. Great to see.

Personally I'm not gonna prime myself for moaning and am generally more inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt (or just be more forgiving), given they've played out of their skins for years. Anyway, fingers crossed we do areet.

Feeling fairly pessimistic like, just hope people don't lose their minds at what's basically a nailed-on defeat.

The gear is pretty cool and very pleased to see folks getting into it. The buzz around the Adidas stuff has been extremely fun, even if I'm only really keen on a couple of the items. Red and blue shirt looks fantastic. Then, some way behind that, some of the training gear is nice - the feathers thing has grown on me and I'm a sucker for maroon. This Originals stuff is pretty cool but not really my cup of tea (certainly at those prices...) It's a pity the Casisdead striped number isn't the actual home shirt, which I personally stack alongside the mid-teens Wonga efforts - awful.

Gagging for us to replace Miggy, aren't ya.

Is that model with the tattoos alright?

The impact of PSR is only being felt more and more on the game and I would - to some extent - sympathise with our owners if they said "why even bother?" I say 'to some extent' because there's still a lot to play for and the basketcasery of certain clubs will ensure that doors are left ajar, as we and Villa have proven. PSR is why I feel pretty forgiving of the transfer window even now. Clearly we are accountable to failing to sign anyone at all, but the rules are designed to help us fail. It's some pretty crucial context that we all need to remember before piling-on anyone connected to the club.

That one shits on this season's effort tbh.

Just caught up on Trossard's red. Don't know how anyone can find it funny tbh; absolutely pathetic that a player should be cautioned and ultimately have to leave the field for that. Football: The Referee Show.

Yeah, great post, reflects my feelings exactly. That said, I probably wouldn't automatically take @gbandit's position if Howe were to lose his job. Hopefully it doesn't come to pass but it's plausible that changing manager is in the best interests of the club; I'd be gutted that it didn't work out, but would respect the decision if the evidence was there that we're not progressing. It would have to be a pretty high bar, though. I feel like he's earned a shot at both cups, even if our league form falters.

An interview that we were privy to exclusively through the lens of local and tabloid journos.

I wince at the question because I hate catastrophising in this NUFC era and I don't believe we'd even be considering this scenario were it not for certain journos pushing sensationalist angles. "Of course there's a door number 3 leading to something less shit, but let's do this anyway," is a bit of a depressing way of processing what's happening imo. I'm not sure it's even worth asking when you have to apply so much assumption to one of two options. No one knows what Paul Mitchell can actually bring to this club - it's entirely theoretical at this point. It's based on the idea of a Sporting Director we formed whilst enviously observing others from our seat at Ashley's Zombie FC. If there's anything I've learned since we joined the land of the living, it's that the jury is out on the idea of Sporting Directors being the pivotal visionaries at their respective clubs. I keep reading that the manager/head coach shouldn't be given the keys to the castle and that such a thing is somehow more appropriately bestowed on a Sporting Director. But it's still just one man, you're just transferring that sensitivity to a different individual. Anyway, I'm still yet to see any real evidence that there's a pervading chasm between the two men. The transfer window went wrong but there's another one in a few short months; the only thing to hope for is that they're both still here and collaborating to result in something better.

Spotted that too and it was quite funny but also fair play to the lad for flying in there defending his teammates, loved that.
