  1. Wahey, pleased for Ajothe. Great to see him doing well.
  2. It would happen to most, you'd think. They've literally won half of every competition they've entered over the last seven years, there can't be much left to feel.
  3. Ha, nice. I got one of those for Christmas as a wee'un one year. Found it far too complicated!
  4. I'm sad that we're not going to have more European nights and it's a missed opportunity for Howe and the squad to future acclimatise to the rigors of those campaigns. Bruno's future doesn't hinge on Conference League participation imo so that's a moot point for me. I don't really give a monkeys about the coefficient situation. I understand the need for us to increase it in order to gain more revenue, but I find the whole relationship between coefficients and financial reward utterly backward. I know that's contradictory when I want what's best for NUFC but there's an element of "if those are the rules of your game, I'd rather not play." I'm exaggerating a bit there but basically what I'm saying is I'm okay with us being an underdog. That's what leads to nights like PSG. With Man Utd winning the cup, the best we were going to get this year was Conference League. I'm really fond of the competition but I'm not devastated that we're not in it. It's ridiculously winnable for any solid PL team and becomes even moreso next season with nobody dropping down from Europa. Looking at the teams likely to feature, I'm not even sure how great an achievement it would be for us to go and win it. Hopefully Chelsea do the Chelsea thing and half-arse it, avoiding what should be a procession to the trophy.
  5. Not gonna re-review the season cos Man Utd won a game we weren't involved in. We did very well to finish as high as we did; unfortunately Chelsea had a barnstorming final third and punished our mistakes. C'est la vie.
  6. Just popping in. We slagging off Newcastle yet?
  7. If the boss has seen something in DCL then there's no chance I'm doubting him after Gordon, not that I really felt any different about that signing. Would hope there'd be flexibility for at least one other forward mind.
  8. Well it's £3m but also the opportunity to build a revenue opportunity through brand recognition. I've no idea if this means we've lost that opportunity/failed to maximise that opportunity; that's for the commercial brains to pick over in the future. I'm just disappointed for those fans who forked out but I guess the whole thing is so flawed that expectations hopefully weren't particularly high.
  9. Thing is it's not just that we played the kids, we played the kids who are jetlagged and knackered and in no fit state to play. Not surprising that it was an absolute massacre. Do wonder what the organisers of this trip might think, though.
  10. The bedwetter in me is thinking there might be a cross word or two from the commercial bods in Howe's direction.
  11. Do feel a bit bad for any Aussie fans paying through the nose for this very rare opportunity. I know it's madness that this trip is happening at all, but they're there. Might as well toe the line just a little bit.
  12. He's only young, though. If he's number from year 2 onwards he maybe goes for it.
  13. Definitely want Giorgi but I really really really hope he'd come in to be number 2 next season before taking Popey's place in the not-too-distant future. I love Pope and it would be amazing to have two genuinely quality keepers to choose from. If we get into the Vana-euro-rama then there'll be plenty of game time.
  14. I love our badge but would be open to change providing it was done sensitively. It's one of the most important pieces of iconography in my life and that wouldn't change if we were to replace it. It wouldn't disappear from existence; it would just be a symbol of eras passed, stored mostly in the memory, but hopefully with physical nods elsewhere too. I've suggested this a few times now but I would love to see the East Stand font changed and all of the club's former badges adorned and backlit on the fascia, either side of the replacement text. I'm rarely anti-tradition and I don't necessarily think it is. Some things are sacred and simply can't change (i.e. the kit) but some things probably can. I've always loathed the dumbing down by making it monochrome/matching away kit colours anyway. Incidentally this is something on which my view has gradually changed over time, before anyone pulls me up...
  15. Where the fuck is it
  16. I would've been very sad to see Tripps leave in the middle of last season but I think there's a fair argument to suggest his time here might have reached a natural conclusion. If we could get a reasonable fee for him then I think his departure would be sensible for all parties, and he'd go with my absolute best wishes. Tino is ready to be first choice.
  17. Think Ashby's probably gonna get another loan seeing as he was injured nearly all of last season?
  18. Is it just me who can barely hear the crowd on this coverage?
  19. Can't imagine how fucking horrific playing a game of football would be almost immediately after a 25hr flight.
