  1. I don't see it as 'obviously better' though. How late would it have to go for you to feel the same way I do? I don't like change, KI; that's all this is.
  2. There's no 'also'. VAR is a big reason for why the goals were in the 100th and 101st minute. It was tonight anyway, thanks to that idiotic pen check. I'm getting pretty desensitised to this late drama, like, whatever the cause. There's already been 12 more 90+ minute goals this season than in all of the next highest (2018/19), and there's still eight rounds left. Seven of the ten latest ever goals have all been this season. #limbs used to be 89 or 90 minutes but there's routinely another 10+ minutes left to play beyond that now. Because of course there's loads of goals going in when half the players are truly gassed, but one team has some momentum. Not to mention being asked to stand around for several minutes after 98 minutes of incredibly intense bodily exertion, only to have to immediately go again. I thought the criticism towards the ManU players re concentration was harsh for this reason. I get that it's exciting and funny but it's not fully real imo.
  3. 100th and 101st minute ffs. Game's gone.
  4. We hoping for a draw out of Chelsea-ManU? Kinda isn't any bad results really I guess, assuming you believe 6th to be possible.
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68727018 In the clip on there, the Arsenal manager is quite clearly not the aggressor, both in the altercation with that knob Hayes, and earlier with the Chelsea player.
  6. On the UEFA Cup theme; Gary Speed missing near enough an open goal in the Marseille first leg. The Drogba factor might still have sealed the deal but if we'd had something to defend over there, you never know.
  7. Bump. Keen to get this booked soon but need to be clear on specifics, which will be determined by how many are playing. If you intend to play but haven't Liked the OP yet, we'd be grateful if you could do soon. Cheers, chaps.
  8. Moments like that represent the apex of my VAR hatred, like. You can argue that it's an unjust imposition on the game at the best of times but those incidents are beyond the fucking pale. It's never fucking 'offside' in a million years; it's a perfectly good goal.
  9. Tweaking the rule wouldn't change this, like.
  10. Howe said in the post-match presser that it was fatigue rather than an injury. Clearly an explanation for why he hasn't been starting games, at least.

    Dan Burn

Howe must be absolutely clueless, like. Burn's never played out of position for us; he spent most of his career as a LCB but trains as a LB and has played almost exclusively as a LB for two seasons. That's just the modern game. Love Burn, remains one of my favourite ever players. Fucking rubbish that he couldn't have his fifth goal of the season (or sixth, if you count the equally harsh case at Anfield).
  12. we did. We also missed our fourth choice LB when he went off injured. I totally empathise with anyone fuming with how we chucked those points away but I really am at shoulder-shrugging stage with it. My expectations couldn't be much lower at this point.
  13. That's a fair comment but I disagree that our approach was fundamentally wrong. We're incredibly susceptible on the break, the injuries continue to pile up, and we're not long since a grueling match at the weekend. We reduced the intensity and limited them to half chances at best, and were harshly denied a second of our own. Enter our worst player.

    Joe Willock

This lad got a lot better when he was injured, like. Can't give him too much stick; this is the thing with long term injuries, players can sometimes take a good while to find their feet again.
  15. I mean this is strictly true seeing as the ref missed it but it's clearly a foul, like.
  16. Just missing the ridiculously harsh disallowed goal.
  17. Honestly if Dummett doesn't do something mind-bogglingly stupid, it's an ugly but pretty comfortable and deserved 1-0 win. I wasn't expecting fireworks after Saturday; we are literally on our last legs.
  18. It wasn't a great performance in the second half yet we still had all the chances, and a perfectly good goal ruled out by VAR. Tired legs and a brainless decision from our 25th choice player is why we haven't won. I'd have taken four points at 2pm on Saturday.
  19. If our fourth choice LB doesn't go down injured then we win that game, such is the absolute state of our injury situation. Obviously frustrating but I can barely feel a thing after that.
  20. I'd be so down with that. A little pay raise, a couple more years. Done deal baby Agreed. If he's not the biggest earner he needs to be. Give him the absolute maximum we can.
  21. Isak's just a bit more reserved I think. Obviously Bruno seems to get a particular kick out of his relationship with the fans, but even Isak was saying in his NUFCTV interview how much he loves playing at SJP. The ground seems to get under the skin of most players these days, obviously Howe as well. Now fucking knock it down.
