Unreal finish Frustrating at fuck night cos this has been there for the taking.
-
Saying Longstaff is having a bad game is a bit agenda-ariffic for me, like. He's been very good physically so far imo.
-
We've done well to sort that out but fuck me we're a rabble at the back. No one's been particularly great but think Longstaff has had a good game. The goal was delivered by the team's two chunks of diamond: lovely pass from Bruno and a dynamite finish from Isak.

What a fucking player

Full piece here: https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/tiago-pinto-interest-dan-ashworth-newcastle-2950296 Interesting link. Benfica are pretty sensational in the transfer market from a financial perspective. They recruited/promoted and made staggering profits on Enzo Fernandez, Darwin Nunez, Ruben Dias and Joao Felix on his watch to name a few.

Feeling quite optimistic about this. They were absolutely rubbish in the League Cup game (only slightly worse than us, like) and we battered them at St James'. I think we'll be confident.
-
I was desperate for us to sign him from Leeds and would have taken him from City in a heart beat. Whatever he had, he’s not found it again. He's only been out of Man City five minutes, like. There's a very good player in there, would put good money on him finding form again once he has an actual run in a team. He's not exactly joined a particularly well-functioning team, mind.
-
Agree that we look robust when he's on the LW, but he's been consistently excellent for us in midfield and it's the move to that position which sparked his whole resurgence.
-
That would mean logging onto Grand Old Team though, and - assuming you don't absolutely despise yourself - why would you want to?
-
Absolutely zero faith in Burnley seeing this one through.
-
There's Garner and Harrison we've been linked with in the past as well. DCL too. Everton's entire squad is probably worth a look at for most PL teams.
-
Yeah, first choice there this season and last. Was the keeper in that mad run at the beginning of last season when they had seven clean sheets in a row... and one goal scored.

Aye, still churning out regular content. I had a deeks yesterday actually. They're all cut from the same sort of cloth, like (the YouTubers), but tbf to Adam I've got quite a lot of respect for him for all the exposure he gives to the Women's team. He's done a canny job with that, I think.
-
I guess this is why Adam Pearson is universally adored around these parts, then. Tbh I think the average age of regular contributors on here is far, far older than it was.
-
how patronising. My beef with him is that he's a know-nowt gobshite. I thought he was harmless enough until he started harassing the perfectly decent NUFC against sportswashing lads, wittering on about how human rights abuses aren't a thing in Saudi. It's the sort of shite that just makes the fanbase look like bootlickers. I also generally just cba with the narcissistic attention-seeking you get from the likes of him. I've actually tried to engage with him a couple of times in comments sections and he just doesn't want to know unless you're kissing his arse.
-
Need Leverkusen to sort it out so Alonso beats Liverpool in the final and they then don't appoint him. Not cos I think he'd be a good Liverpool manager, just cos it'd be a funny conclusion to the whole saga.
-
Hope Brighton get dumped out, so am pleased by that scoreline. Football is officially knackered if that scoreline is reversed. West Ham n Villa can fuck off n'all.

McClen filling the curtains quota after you left, @JonBez comesock?

I can feel myself moving over to the dark side re the stadium debate; i.e. in favour of moving. If we've established that the whole notion of going to the match has become corrupted by (among other things): the inability to choose your seat; selfish troglodytes who refuse to accommodate progression; 35th minute pints, Bejewelled; and everything else to do with modern society - then it feels like there's nothing left to save. The sentiment is for something that's already gone so we may as well step into the brave new world. Fender was a bit of an eye-opener too. If we want a venue that's going to be a true economic behemoth for the city, as opposed to only a football stadium, SJP isn't going to fit the bill. There's a significant number of caveats - the main one being that it must stay in the city - but I'm leaning ever closer to "fuck it."
-
Think that's a bit of a glass half empty way to look at it. If it's true, we might've seen something in him which can be built upon/improved, as was the case with Gordon.
-
Could be miles off but I bet his goals per minute ratio looks a lot better than his goals per appearances ratio?
-
Think there could be something in this, aye.
