If he wasn't so unsettled that summer then I think we're talking about a different player now tbh. Certainly not someone who's been shit for 18 months, or whatever hyperbole-based-in-some-truth you want to use. Without hindsight, fuck PSR and fuck Liverpool.
-
Do you know if he's been up to much since Dortmund? Was impressed with his side in 23/24.
-
Absolutely love this one; would have it higher personally. West Ham winner without question his best. Sensational strike and an amazing moment.
-
Gagging for some crowd shots for the winner. Wish this had kept the Millburn in full view.
-
I think any rule which stops that from being a penalty is a very stupid rule. His mis-timed tackle has clearly influenced Foden's ability to get a clean strike away. We'd be absolutely apoplectic if that was against us. Clearly I couldn't give a monkeys, with Ederson on Fraser and Tiote's disallowed goal lingering particularly in the memory.

That's the shark jump.
-
It's just a weird need to be edgy. Not even worth engaging with.
-
Presumably there wasn't a Boro waiting to take Lascelles off our hands, meanwhile there was for Targett, and the guy will have wanted to play. He's Championship standard anyway.
-
It was forgivable imo that we didn't sign a full-back in the summer given everything else that was going on but hard agree that it should be a priority in Jan. I think Trippier is decent cover but it's when it's him and Burn, we lose so much. So a left-sided understudy to Hall is what we need. Mind you we'll have done well if we can find someone who's both good cover for Hall and happy to be an understudy to a 21-year-old. Might have to be someone who can play multiple positions.

Watching the highlights again, the header is a great effort and the shot from Murphy's ball in the second half is a tough one to convert, but he's got to do better with that through ball from Barnes in the first half. It's a first time shot too, but he's running onto it and has time to pick his spot... you've got to get some air on it. Pre-cup final Isak lashes that into the postage stamp. Needs Miggy's "shoot higher" advice from 22/23.
-
So Joelinton can eat the two 5'6 lads.
-
Barnes' second goal the biggest crowd reaction this season, anyone? Looked like absolute bedlam on the tele. You can sense it in the players too.

Mint o.p., Haydn. Feels like this one would be really difficult but find it very hard to know what to expect given the relative steamrollerings of Benfica and Bilbao. You look at their team though and you think they'd probably not be up to much in the Prem. Aubameyamg is 36 and there's at least a couple of midgets elsewhere in their front line, with Paixao and Gomes both 5'6. They might play amazing football but the raw data suggests our physicality should be more than a match. Looking forward to it and feels like, given the last three wins, we can afford to drop a couple of points. Rotate, get a result, smash the Toffees at the weekend. Ramsdale Livramento - Schär - Botman - Burn Miley - Tonali - Joelinton Elanga - Woltemade - Gordon Sorry lads, we need to be careful with Hall.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRZRrfFjWY3/?igsh=NW56dHljeTYzdDVj Sorry for those without Insta. Bruno's reaction at the whistle. Bloke is so fucking committed FFS.
-
Absolutely. Surprised by the amount of flak Botman has copped over the previous fortnight; like the whole team he'd had a shitter, but I thought he'd been one of our most consistent performers up to then. Looking as assured as he did in 22/23. Obviously love Fab but still feel Thiaw/Botman is the future.
-
Yeah. Crucial foot in from Schär too.
-
I love every bit that second goal. The deadly whip on the corner, the way we kept the play going, Murphy's cross, Wolt's leap, Bruno straining every sinew, the sexy finish. Just a brilliant team effort. Can't get over the amount of scrutiny it received. One of those pre-VAR where there isn't so much as a word from the comms, let alone the circus we had to endure.
-
We needed to keep Tino on Savinho.
-
Think we got away with one with Schär's tackle (foul, penalty) on Foden in the first half.
-
Not a natural at all.
-
Unless I'm having a brain fart we haven't walked out to it for years, though. It's shoehorned in after the PL music and because it's so long players are often stood around waiting for it to finish, which I bet is why they've requested it tbh.
-
Absolutely desperate on that one occasion where he needed to hold it up. But I wish Willock had put a bit more on the pass right at the death; he'd have been through on goal and could've been a big moment for him.
-
Could do with Slot picking up some wins soon, like.
-
Thought he was alright. Remain unconvinced that he's ever gonna be anything like prolific but at least we achieved part one in providing him with chances. That one on one (second big chance) hasn't happened once before I don't think.
-
I'm one of Gordon's biggest apologists but he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line-up as long as this guy is fit and available. He's been generally very good since Gordon got that red against Brighton. Immense contribution today, not for the first time. The lad fucking loves the Gallowgate End.
