  2. pay the extra.....if we miss out Coloccini we might end up with Anton Ferdinand or Senderos ffs
  3. Hopefully he`ll be as reliable as Acuna was (who we trialled also). I remember in the past Keegan trialled a couple players like Hyppia and I believe Dalglish brought Mellberg over for a trial but for whatever reason we didnt sign them
  4. on loan, i would of had him here in a shot apparently he`s gone the way of Ronaldinho recently and is out of form and gained a ton of weight
  5. Keane has cost a fair whack in terms of transfer fees over the years. A lot of money for someone that`s not exactly prolific in front of goal (i know he`s more of a creator though) but still....... Tottenham to Liverpool - £20m. Leeds to Tottenham - £7m. Inter Milan to Leeds - £12m. Coventry to Inter Milan - £13m. Wolves to Coventry - £6m. Total - £58m
  6. Heskey over Baptista? Sigh For the money yes. He's played with Owen before, is unselfish & has years of PL experience. Baptista would cost perhaps x 5, double/ treble wages & hasn't cut it with RM or Arsenal. I really could not see him being a success here. Heskey is 30 whilst Baptista is 26. At least if Baptista flopped he`d have a bit of sell on value
  7. Paul Gascoigne is said to be considering a coaching job with Newcastle. (The Sun)
  8. on the plus side bassong is from the same club as ropert pires and Louis Saha Their own fault for not playing him tbh. he played in at least one of the games from the start France-Japon : 1-2 Festival International Espoirs de Toulon, Group A, at Hyeres Goal : France : J. 9. Daniel Carvalho has signed for Internacional on loan
  10. might be worth following this thread in the Deportivo forum http://www.deportivo-la-coruna.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1717&page=70
  11. burdisso is bad...? are you really watch inter? compare to materazzi that's the worse one burdisso is quite handy player though not very great just average I agree with duwy. I have watched alot of Inter`s games the last 2-3 seasons also and whilst Burdisso is not a bad defender he is average at best IMO and is prone to blunders
  12. I would have thought he`d be perfectly suited to the English game. He`s physical, good header of the ball and not pushed over the ball easily. If it`s between Anton Ferdinand and Collocini it`s a no brainer as to who we should go for
  13. I think she came over to Newcastle to help Oba settle in when he first came. She lived with him when he was at Inter also. Terrible news. RIP
  14. Im guessing Kaboul has taken out an earthquake insurance policy then
  15. usually with keepers their best days start in their mid 30`s and Given has just turned 32. Agree though, I wouldn:t be arsed if he was sold. Hopefully he doesnt walk straight back in to the first XI like he did in the past (or he`ll throw a tantrum)

    Tim Krul

Would have been gutted if he left.....I get the feeling KK doesn`t rate him as highly as Forster and Soderberg though. I remember when KK first joined and he was talking about our keepers but didnt mention Krul`s name.....might have been a slip of the mind like! Hope we keep him and send him out on loan for the next season or 2 prefereably the championship or dutch league. If Heerenveen and Feyenoord still want him then they can have him on loan by all means
  17. dont know why you lot believed it.....Doncaster is too far way from home for Shola to consider it
  18. I've only seen him play in his Ajax days and he was then a right wing back/right wing player but I guess he's settled in to a DM role judging by comments here
  19. if he had signed already I"m sure there would have been a mention on Benfica's website
  20. NUFC eying Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua Jul 15 2008 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle NEWCASTLE United are toying with the idea of trying to bring a second Argentinian to St James’s Park in the form of Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua. And the key to any deal could be Insua’s fellow Argentinian Jonas Gutierrez, who linked up with his new colleagues at the club’s training ground yesterday following his switch to United from Real Mallorca. Kevin Keegan told me on the final day of last season at Everton that one of his main aims in the summer was to bring in a left-back to give Spaniard Jose Enrique some competition. And at the moment Enrique remains the only experienced left-back on United’s books, with the promising Hungarian Tamas Kadar still having some way to go before Keegan can consider him for first- team duty. Sources on Merseyside have revealed United’s interest in Insua – ironically, the 19-year-old was one of the players offered to Newcastle when Liverpool tried to lure James Milner to Anfield last month. Since then, Insua who, like Nobby Solano is a former Boca Juniors player, has signed a new three-year contract at Liverpool. But following the departure of John Arne Riise, Liverpool have paid £7m to Udinese for their left-back Andrea Dossena and he is expected to be first choice for Benitez. Although he is a naturally right-footed player Gutierrez plays on the left, and it would make sense for Keegan to have the chance to play Insua behind his fellow Argentinian. Insua, who represents Argentina at Under-20 level, only managed four first-team appearances for Liverpool last season. But three of them came at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen whether Rafa Benitez will let him switch from Merseyside to Tyneside, either in a permanent move or on loan.
  21. was just reading reports of Milan on the verge of signing him for 12m just a day or 2 ago. Now the fee is almost double?
  22. asked about him on a Udinese forum about this abilities/type of player he has etc Inler is a Vieira type of player. Great tackler, above-average technique, good passer, likes to be in the middle of things, good shooting, very consistent, never injured, doesn't get many cards and he will develop into a real leader. As a swiss and Udinese-fan I really think he will be one of Switzerland's greatest midfielders of all time.
  23. and back to business as usual 'Morale in Newcastle United squad now sky high' http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/07/10/morale-in-newcastle-united-squad-now-sky-high-72703-21317487/
  24. No quotes directly from him mentioning us like --------------------------------------------- Coelho: I Turned Down Toon, Celts For Bologna Brazilian full-back Dyego Rocha Coelho is excited to have joined Bologna, claiming that he chose to join despite interest from Newcastle and Celtic... Defender Coelho has agreed to join newly promoted Serie A outfit Bologna from Corinthians. The Brazilian right-back, who spent last season on loan at Atlético Mineiro, gained notoriety in his homeland after a harsh challenge on Cruzeiro starlet Kerlon - performing one of his ‘seal dribbles’ - landed him a 120 day ban. The 25-year-old was set to move to Celtic in January but was sent back to Brazil after an unsuccessful trial period. Now, though, Coelho has hinted that he wasn't keen on Celtic anyway and revealed that Newcastle were also interested in signing him. Furthermore, he thinks he can get his career back on track in Italy and perhaps even add to the solitary Brazil cap he won five years ago. Asked if he'd been approached by Newcastle and Celtic, he told the Corriere dello Sport: “It's true, but I wanted to play in your country and, I will not hide, my wife strongly wanted to move to Italy. “It is a club with great tradition, which has won seven Italian titles and is known and respected in the rest of the world. "Now I'd like to win my place back in the Seleção thanks to Bologna."
