  1. The Danes need to get Soren Larsen on the pitch....
  2. I`ve watched quite a bit of the Bundesliga over the years (on and off) and Cha Du Ri hasn`t really cemented himself a regular place in any of his teams and has always been shuffled around different positions.......well for Frankfurt and FSV Mainz anyway. Haven`t seen much of Freiburg at all though. He is out of contract with Freiburg apparently now....just what our hierarchy wants (FREE).... ...though he is 29. I read anyway that he wants to move to the K-league. If he continues to do well at this world cup he might change his mind. PS: living in Korea, I haven`t seen much of this cult hero status of his that you mentioned! unless it has been very recent Are you sure it's not just that you haven't been looking hard enough? I was at World Cup stadium watching the game with the thousands of others..... and hardly anyone mentioned the lad before the game when I was talking to them about the team/players....well now is different. where did you watch it? Coex? City Hall?

  5. Jong Tae-se - North Korean striker (playing in the Japanese league) http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-north-korea-soccer-20100614,0,1396976.story
  6. 2 million is an absolute steal if they get him .... he just missed out on the world cup squad. He cant be very good when they use Jonas as a right back instead of him... same can be said of Zanetti then?....and Cambiasso in midfield?
  7. Who would you like to see promoted? I like Betis....they should not be playing in La Segunda....but I wouldn't mind Hercules in La Liga...i can vaguely remember them there in the mid 90's and they are a fairly decent sized club. Just looking through their squad list they have familiar names like Portillo, Rufete, Farinos, Parmerot even...
  8. Germany's ethnic minority players refuse to sing anthem. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703340904575284720357621884.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_sections_sports

  10. looking forward to seeing this Anthony Annan fella for Ghana.....seems to be getting canny reviews from what I`ve read.
  11. aye he `s a very good keeper for Udinese. Just looking at the squad, his cousin Jasmin is the reserve keeper too
  12. anyone seen much of him? Anyways, just some random rumour that will never happen...
  13. Sergio Aguero has already taken a claim to that place...
  14. The noise really doesn't annoy me anymore tbh, I just tune them out completely for the most part. What is bad and what somebody else mentioned in this thread is the way they destroy a proper atmosphere developing. Instead of chanting and the roar when a chance happens all you get is the constant droaning of the horns - it's boring if anything. "proper atmosphere" Did it occur to you that the vuvuzelas are a large part of their atmosphere? You're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy. They're commercial toys that have been imported there over the last few years. I think VI said that they were used in Spain in the 80s when some spanner decided to import them there aswell. They're not 'cultural' in any way, shape or form. Like I said the sound generally doesn't bother me, It's just there and it certainly doesn't ruin it for me. However it's just a bit sad that it's the only thing that can be heard, no chants, no roar of the crowd at certain moments - hell even a drum would be nice to mix it up a bit. Part of the fun of the World Cup is the different noises that the different fans from over the world make during games, but all there is this time is the same horns. It's boring. Yeah, they became popular when I started going to games during the late 1980s-early 1990s. They were cheap, and they were noisy. You can still hear them at Spanish stadia Some Barça fans playing them here: The vuvuzelas are as much unique to South African football culture as breathing and standing on two legs. some Barca charvers in there
  15. Agreed. Wasn't going to set the world alight but he fits in their system well and was no worse than a lot of other people on the pitch. Tired quickly though. agree with that.....I have seen him on a few occasions in the South Amererican qualifiers prior, and he looked a decent player for them. Well anyways looks like he will start the following games too seeing as Londeiro is suspended.
  16. El Loco Abreu on......needs 1 more goal to be joint record goal scorer for Uruguay.....howay Uruguay!!
  17. 'I won't hold back Nile' – Hughton http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/39I-won39t-hold-back-Nile39.6354378.jp
  18. Clearly wants to come here not good enough for us tbh too old too.......doesn`t fit in with our new policy of signing up and coming players under 26(?)
  19. Jonas forgot to pack his clothes for South Africa It seems that Jonas must have football on the brain these days, because when he arrived in South Africa, and opened his suitcase he found out he hadn’t packed any ordinary clothes – just presumably his football clothes from Argentina. Newcastle’s Argentina winger said: “I only took my Argentina gear. I thought I was not going to need more than that.” “My room-mate Martin Demichelis had to lend me some of his own clothes.” http://soccer.fanhouse.com/2010/06/10/argentinas-jonas-gutierrez-forgets-to-pack-clothes-for-trip-to/
  20. I think many are underestimating Uruguay. For me it is them or South Africa (only because hosts usually manage to get to the next stage) to finish 2nd.
  21. no that was Villanueva and tbf he hardly got a chance......
  22. some more of Adriano......certainly needs to shed a few kg's http://www.corrieredellosport.it/Fotogallery/Calcio/23527/20/Adriano+si+presenta+ai+tifosi+della+Roma
