Cause our two players who have vision weren't on the park (one was for 14min). We scored the winner with a ball threaded through the middle. There would be more of that if the actual players who can do it started games.

He's a defensive coach, he's never gonna change. Never. Ever.

I'd play Sissoko where Tiote plays and Marv where SS plays. My theory is that pards like SS where he is as he runs around putting pressure on the ball in their half.

It frustrates me that there is very rarely an option for a cutback (Sissoko has started pulling up short coming into the box and scored from it). Today the pitiful floating the ball into the arms of their keeper (13times) was really depressing.

Who put us in it then? Obviously Pardew takes his share of the blame along with the ownership, players and injuries/circumstances. Logically then Pardew only takes his share of the praise for turning it around along with the ownership, new players and lessening injuries etc. We were mostly shit this season, then we got some new players and some injuries cleared up and we haven't been as shit since. I'm not particularly on either 'side' here because I'm perfectly prepared to see what happens next season and think some go too far, but it's not hard to see why people are continually cynical about Pardew's management ability. If things had turned around without an influx of new players, there wouldn't be half as much cynicism. Basically. He just appears to be phenomenonally mediocre based on the style he has produced consistently snce being here. The key point is that he is a defensive coach and will never morph into a attacking/creative one. Then again a lot of coaches are defensive. You can see that he didn't start Marv today our most creative option (I rate him higher than Cabaye for killer passes).
  7. This guy has it all. Looks relaxed and calm even under silly pressure. Only one mistake today and has the confidence to bring the ball forward.
  8. Sissoko would be an ideal holding mf who can burst forward in the space left by teams defending deep.

Can't really knock pards today, we had almost total control of the game and the subs were perfect.

Good subs today. My only quibble is Guti still starting when he's clearly been crap for 100 years.
  11. Needs to start instead of that shithouse Guti.
  12. Thing is Guti and Cabaye haven't produced anything of note but one pass between them. One has to come off.
  13. Goofy should have scored. It's been reasonable so far but not really threatening apart from given Boruc tennis elbow from all the catching practice. Hatem should have been an option on the bench.
  14. Often wonder how good Martinez would be at a club with a bit of money.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

No idea why he was played in those ridiculous conditions.
