How do we know he'll stick with Carr?
-
Keegan didn't mention anything about any injury on Emre on the post-match intervue. Hope he's fine.

The only thing that's embarrasing is the attitude of those that seemingly want to take the moral high-ground with a holier-than-thee-attitude. Yesterday, we scored two goals, they didn't score one. Why shouldn't we feel cheated? Had we won 2-0 (like we should have), no one would be talking about the players not having the ability. We shouldn't have to score three more goals than our opposition just to win the game, one should be enough´.

Seconded. Thirded.

You can't play different sides home and away. Breeds inconsistency imo. Agree. Should stick to one first XI, especially now, when we've got so many new players, they need to play together. If keep the spine of the team for a few seasons, then we could consider playing slightly different teams home and away

Emre is a bit of CM Michael Owen. He can go missing for parts of the game (obviously to a less extent than Owen), but then he's got that extra bit of class that might just produce a goal. In the league, he's only played for more than 60 minutes in five games (13 appearences in total, 578 minutes on the pitch) and he's scored 1 goal and got 5 assists. That equals one goal every 96 minutes, which is quite decent, if you ask me. He is, despite his short time on the pitch, the one who has created most goals for us this season (Zoggy's got 3 goals and 2 assists).

Care to elaborate? Did you honestly not feel cheated yesterday? Not just the goals, but they could do pretty much whatever they wanted to our players while if we even attempted to tackle them, he would stop play. And like Dave suggested, the title is obviously tongue-in-cheek, a play on the media-thread, but the points made in the thread are spot on. On another note, did anyone else notice that they kept replaying the foul on N'Zogbia which led to our goal? As if it looked like he dived, when he clearly was fouled?

First talking about the game, saying that we were unlucky not to get away with three points. Said that he couldn't see anything wrong with Owens goal and that theirs looked dodgy. Then on about that Barton did a good job covering the right hand side in the first half. He kept Downing out of the game completely, but he wasn't all too involved. Could say that he got three quarters of his game right, not amazing, but good. When he moved into the middle Barton did what Barton does best. Beye is back in Newcastle, and might have watched the game, Faye will be back Monday or Tuesday (can't remember) and both will definitely be back for the Villa game. That's about it, can't be arsed watching it again, so might've missed out on a point or two

Good interview with Keegan on World. He's pretty much spot on on everything he says.
-
Harper isn't better at anything.
-
By the way, don't forget how fucking frustrating Harper is. He takes about a million years to take a goal-kick, even if we're losing
-
The cameraman didn't catch Duff and the defender when the ball was played, they were too far ahead of the play.
-
Isn't he injured? Wasn't on the bench today
-
Good point. Woodgate-Faye CB would've have been top notch, too bad we didn't get him.
-
Second choice for me. Needed in defence and that I at the moment think we need as much attacking threat as possible (today we scored our first league-goal for about a month) edges it.
-
The fact he's gotten himself more bookings than Alan Smith this season says something about his tackling. It used to be good, but he must have lost a yard of pace and is therefore far too often late in and a good tackle then becomes a horrible one.

Agree with the OP. Beye is no-brainer, best full-back we've had in a long time. Faye is terrific CB, probably top 10 in the league. Taylor and Cacapa are of similar ability, imo, and I'm not too bothered about which one of them starts with Faye. Though, starting Taylor would probably be the wisest, considering he's got his best years ahead of him. Also think he'll grow if he can form a partnership with Faye. There's of course a point of playing Faye in midfield, something we perhaps should consider when playing top4 teams, but for most games, I think Barton and Emre should be given a chance to form a partnership. Note that it takes time for a CM partnership to form, much like it does for CB, so they should be given an extended run of games together (unless it's extremely bad, of course). When it comes to Martins, I'm convinced he should play together with Owen upfront. Again, they'll need time on the pitch together. They'll be easy to slag off, as people will say that you need a big/small partnership, but I really don't agree with that. Look at Man U, they don't have a big targetman. If the Emre/Barton partnership works out, it should benefit both Martins and Owens game, both of them can pass the ball fairly accurately. Geremi should be a utility man, he can cover for quite a few positions. Even though Carr has looked decent, I'd still have Geremi as back-up RB, I'd also have him as back-up CM and RW, if two out of Milner, Duff and Zoggy are unavailable.

The guy Cacapa stopped then was offside by a few yards, another miss by the refs. Forgot about that til now
-
After today, I once again have hope in Barton. He looked a bit shit when he came back from his injury, but now he really looks up for it. Might be a bit too slow, but he showed some great vision and touches. His pass for Viduka late on today was class, as was the run and pass to Owens mishit.
-
Keep Barton, Zoggy, Faye, Beye, Enrique, Taylor, Cacapa, Martins, Given, Owen, possibly Duff and Emre.
-
Second one was definitely correct, third I can't say, Duff and the Boro player wasn't visable on the tv.
-
Fucking shite yet he plays every minute of every game. At the moment, I'd even rather have Smith in mf than him.
