It's scary already - that from 8 yards he has the uncanniest habit of hitting the 'keeper when there are yards of empty net to hit. Amazing really. Of course! Maritns doesn't want to score goals, he just wants to take out his adolescent pent-up rage on opposing keepers by chucking rocket shots at their faces ...Oh, wait... : I wish crumpy was a keeper tbh As long as he's not our keeper!

i'd back any ref on that, all the whinging and diving needs cutting out.if he booked them for whining too much, good, more rennie in the prem. I think whining is ok, tbh. You get frustrated on a football pitch, there's a lot of adrenaline and you do things you normally wouldn't. Diving on the other hand....

How was Carr today? Was working during the first half, so I saw very little of it. My father said he was absolute shit the first 15-20 minutes, but mainly because he was playing out of position and acted as if LB was his natural position. From what I saw, he did a decent job. Nice to see a defender in black and white that doesn't panic when he gets the ball (even Nobby panics too often)
-
He's fucking shit. Though I can't take away from him that he's scored three times in like 5 games, very good for any player. Still, 99% (official Premier League Stats....or my own) of the times he gets the ball he loses it or puts a terrible cross in. How GeJon and others fails to see this is beyond me.

No I don't rate him as a footballer and his attitude is sh!t. Stay clear, Glen.

Against Man U i watched Martins like a hawk as i have seen Dyer, Emre, Milner etc who were supplying him, enough times to know what they are generally about to do. I also spent a lot of time watching Hunty and Edgar, who was marshalling the defence up to what position on the pitch from goal kicks at both ends (Taylor). Other things i like to look at is where the holding player puts himself on the pitch when in possession. Are you like one of the pigeons at wimbledon following the ball back and forwards across the net? Of course you have that option when you go to games, but tbh, I don't think there are many who goes to games and just study one player like a hawk. You might be one of them, I'm not. Though the best way is to go to the game and then watch the replay of it when you come home

Speaking of intellectual conversations - garth, mate, even the MACKEMS are taking the piss out of you! You're famous. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=189328 The mackems didn't get that MOST (everyone except one) was taking the piss

Who really go to a game and watch all the off the ball movement and that? I mean, you focus on certain things, and I know that I mostly focus on the ball-carrier. Of course you notice a few more runs per game, but many of these you would probably see on the tele as well. And someone said how the back four is organising, I can't for my life say that I once payed any attention to this when at a football game (and I DO go to games, just not Newcastle games!)

So, would you like to swap our position with West Hams?
-
I hope that he'll get loaned out (with NO option to buy) when Harper returns from injury. I also hope that Krul will play some cup games for us next season.
-
Fuck off Chelsea At the moment, I wouldn't sell Martins for 25m. We'd be totally fucked for the rest of the season. He is priceless for us right now.
-
The Championship loan windows stays open till March or something, doesn't it? But I fully agree. And even the likes of Huntington and Edgar if we sign some defenders or we get some fit ones. No idea like Anyway, Don't think we should loan out both Hunty and Edgar, we might need them (both are better than Ramage from what I've seen)
-
If we can get Harper fit before the end of the transfer market, we should be looking at loaning Krul out for 6 months or even a year.
-
Owen will be a top-class striker for at least another 4 years. Come August when Duff has settled properly and Martins has his first year out of the way and will find his position better and Owen 100% match-fit, we'll be one dangerous attacking side.

a link to this thread was posted on RAOK(?).....mind you, I don't blame them for giving some of us grief over this one Ok, it makes sense then.

Is it just me, or are there suddenly a lot more scousers on this board? blueconfused.gif

I know they're not the same quality of players but if say Manure's equivalents were missing: W Brown P Evra K Richardson R Ferdinand T Kuszczak R Giggs M Silvestre G Heinze G Neville L Saha W Rooney Ferguson would have the bloody league suspended!!!! Ameobi can't count as our second best striker, can he? Surely Martin's must be ahead of him. It's just cos Ameobi's the injured one!!! Wasn't really sure who to compare him to at Manure...maybe Larsson now!! Solskjaer, IMO.
-
Bid 7m for him. He's worth it, IMO. If they say no to that, try and get him on loan

He doesn't sound too unhappy about it, tbh. Good attitude. Would absolutely love him here, he'd be the best "possible" signing for us atm
-
Perhaps he would like to bring some players with him as well?
-
If Mourinho were to be available, we'd be mental to not go for him. We wouldn't have a chance though.
