  1. Dyer has helped Martins because we play it on the floor a bit more now, and he's not reliant on Siberski's "ability" to head the ball down for him. Wouldn't particularly say Dyer has done an awful lot himself to help Martins, just the fact that the rest of the team behind them play differently as theres no lanky goon to boot the ball to. Dyer's willingness to keep running all the time creates space and opportunities for Martins. Plus the fact that defenders are scared to death because of our pace upfront.
  2. Some might, not all. If he was out for the rest of the season because of an injury picked up in a friendly the majority would be pissed off. I'd be pissed off, I'm sure we all would, I still wouldn't complain because I knew he would play internationals before he came. I didn't complain when Nobby kept going to play for Peru for the same reason, he's got every right to go and should for as long as he wants to play for his country. It just seems that players can play for the home countries but not any others, it's double standards. This Maybe not just the home countries though - just the bigger nations that can't be bullied. For instance we might put pressure on Nobby not to play for Peru, but imagine if Arsenal tried to stop Gilberto playing for Brazil... Ironically it is the smaller nations that need every player available, but hey, it's only Nigeria so they can fuck off eh? Their FA can, anyway. Saying Martins should leave NUFC asap after like three games. But yeah, I agree with your post.

    How good were

I'm pretty sure that manu will win it. I've seen them thrash their opponents so many times this season, going at it from start and looking like scoring every time they get the ball. I don't want them to win though, especially not since Larson came there.
  4. I hope he don't play more than 45 minutes. Less chance of him getting injured and he won't be as tired from the game. I actually want him to play, he should be proud to represent his country and I hope he scores a goal or two (in that half that he does play) to build up his confidence even more. The Nigerian FA can still fuck off, mind.
  5. No, thats true. Butt is not "inept", he's just "mediocre at his very best". And Parker is "decent int he main". BRAMBLE is inept. Disagree about Butt. I'd argue, and i can imagine quite a few people would also do so, that he has been a key figure in the first team this season. His experience and his passing ability have been vital, and i think he and Emre have a very good partnership in the middle. Parker's alright - he's neither here nor there, really. Neither of them are 'inept'. Bramble's just s***. The one he showed us on Saturday? Yes, because he's been doing that consistently all season. He has been passing terribly all season, and that backpass on saturday hasn't got anything to do with my opinion.

He often gets the small passes wrong, giving up possession when we should be attacking
  7. N'Zog IMO. Perhaps not this season though. Note that it's different here than in England. Not many here would know who the fuck the Zogster is.

    New England Shirt?

That might be the most boring football shirt ever
  9. Duff should've got it. Nah, Shay deserves it.

    The Betting Thread.

Been a good betting weekend! Today I had 1.5£ on Man u and Standard to win (Standard won 2-1) to the odds 3.5 and another 1.5£ on Troyes to win at home to Lyon at 7 times the money
  11. I think he's had a reasonbly good game, but people are jumping on that one moment of poor composure that forced him into a foul that, had distance to goal been shorter, may have been viewed as denial of goal scoring opportunity and a send-off. Pretty typical - a solid game for 89 minutes and one or two frightening moments. typical bramble, fairly decent match with two moments of madness. simply can't afford to have someone in the team who makes huge errors in every match, regardless of how well their general play is. Exactly. Indigo, you make yourself look a bit daft defending him constantly imo. "Meaningless free kick" - If he doesn't foul Helguson, he's 1 on 1 with Harper having given the ball away. It's hardly an isolated incident from the useless twat either. Sorry, but no. What's daft is the sad sad sad need of nearly everyone on here to jump on the bandwagon and scapegoat particular players if things go wrong, regardless of whether or not it was anything at all to do with them. NOTHING that Bramble did today lead to us losing that game, we lost because of a stupid backpass from Nicky Butt and because Carr got raped all game and that's it. Sorry if that doesn't fit with what people want to believe but that's the truth. You lot can believe it or not, frankly I could give a shit really. You know what, I hope they do get rid of Bramble, because when we continue to be disorganised at the back, I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that I was right and you lot were clueless!! Anyway, bollocks to this, I'm off to watch the end of the rugby, see you later. No hard feelings? Whey, let's be hypocrites, shall we? First talking about Bramble bandwaggoning and how wrong that is, then you're straight on to the hate Carr-bandwagon You're just annoyed because your "hate our player of the season" bandwagon hasn't got any wheels on it. I don't hate Martins, Given or Dyer

Had 10£ on Aston Villa, Chelsea and Blackburn (thank you Gamst-Pedersen!). Gave me 43£.
  13. "it's not knee-jerk, we've been saying he's shit for years like"
  14. This would NEVER EVER even be debated if it wouldn't have been your little favorite scapegoat Carr. A throw-in in a midfield position, to a player your own team. How on Earth can you put blame on that player? The goal was 100% Butt's fault, and I think he'll be the first to admit it himself. If you want to think Carr is shit, fine, but there is NO NEED for scapegoating him.

  16. As long as we don't get Ibrahimovic. Everybody was talking about this at the pub today, it's just sick.
  17. Martins goal against Spurs was awarded Goal of the month, by the way. Milner's against Manure third best behind Pennants

    Hello Newcastle Fans

Still funny though Slap bang in the middle of the league at 10th, how happy are you with your teams performances so far this year? What are your hopes for the rest of the year? I'm fairly disappointed, though I shouldn't be. I hope that we can advance to 6th or 7th, though its most likely that we'll finish Michael Owen used to be a hero at Anfield, how do you think he has done so far at Newcastle? Will he ever be the same? He's done well the few times he's played. I reckon him and Martins could be one of the most dangerous partnerships in the league if we can sort out or midfield Who has been your best player(s) so far this season? Martins. If you want to be certain not to concede, you better break his legs or something. Emre recently got accused of racist comments by our blue neighbours, your views? I really hope it's not true, he's a very important player for us. Can see it being true though, he's got a bit of a temper How desperate are you in Geordie land to win a trophy? Don't know, tbh Liverpool and Newcastle served up a 4 - 3 cracker in the late nineties twice! What are your memories of the games? None, was too young to remember What are your views on the current Liverpool squad? If you could have one player till the end of the season who would it be? Very good squad with good depth. I'd love to see Gerrard in black and white, his passing and vision would give Martins and Owen plenty more chances. Your views on our manager Rafa Benitez? Certainly better than Roeder, that's for sure. Has made some very good buys. Newcastles known for its passionate fans and its fit birds - what can the travelling Liverpool faithful expect of the Newcastle crowd? Noisy bunch etc. Are the girls as dirty as they sound!?!?! No idea, don't live there and finally can you predict the score for the newkit forum? 2-2 (being very optimistic). Martins x2, Kuyt and Crouch for you.
  19. That's just looking for a scape-goat instead of blaming whoever is to blame, tbh. If Carr had threw it straight to the opposition, you'd all have been complaining about Carr's stupid throw in when he didn't even try to pass a Toon player
  20. Considering he's playing out of position, he's done ok. Can't put too much blame on him for the second goal, Hunty, Edgar and Babayaro would all have been outmuscled in the same way by Diop (still should have been a fucking free kick, mind). Bramble can be put an equal amount of blame for that goal as he lost his man.
  21. We miss him an awful lot! After Martins, Dyer and arguably Given, he is our most important player IMO. We have no cover for him when he's injured. Parker/Butt is a terrible partnership, neither of them offer any creativity and passing is a weakness for both of them!
  22. Bullshit thread. Carr was barely to blame for their second goal (He should've had a free-kick IMO) other than that he was no worse than anyone else on the pitch. I even reckon half the people in this thread didn't even see the game.
  23. So, lose possession wouldn't have been better I take it? Especially since that goal got Fulham to wake up. Without that goal I still we could've won the game, with Martins having, from what I've seen of him, his best overall game.
  24. Martins was absolute class today. Like my dad said towards the end of the game; "We have one footballer on the pitch now, and he just made a terrific pass" (when he passed a high ball to Milner at the left wing). Martins would walk in any top club on current form, 10m was a bargain for him, especially considering our situation when we bought him. I can see Martins being the worlds best striker in three years time, I just hope he still plays for the black and white when that day comes.
