That was an awful window, I thought we would be relegated at the start of that season. Think Perez, Aarons & Cisse having decent seasons pretty much kept us up. Aye, Aarons with his four sub appearances and one goal in the league was what kept us up. Didn't Aarons grab a few assists? Early that season Pardew was on the ropes and I remember Cisse & Aarons helping to get him a few points to keep him in the job. Then he won a number of games on the bounce with Cisse & Perez scoring some vital goals. Those 8/9 key games got us to 20 something points by round 19 which was around the time Pardew left... Nope, not a single one. One league goal and one league cup goal is all he did that season. from memory is was a classic pardew rescue act that aarons kicked off with the league cup goal and then followed up fairly rapidly with the league goal so it seemed like aarons had a massive impact on things but he didn't in actual fact Aarons scored in a 3-3 draw with Palace on 30 Aug. His cup goal was two months later against City. He came on as a sub in a 1-0 win at home to Liverpool the game after, then he wasn't seen again until May.

If they were to sell him, it'd need to be for a ridiculous sum, something that would guarantee them to get a class striker in and another couple of good players for it to be worth it. Talk of bids of £6m sounds ridiculous, surely it won't even be tempting to sell at that price? Meanwhile, because of his age, I can see why clubs wouldn't pay more than around £10m for him, which is why I think he'll be staying.

Was painful watching him yesterday like. Been standing up for him, saying he's decent enough defensively to be allowed to be carried with his lack of technique on the ball. Obviously isn't helped by having Gouffran in front of him, but we really need to sort that left hand side out ASAP. Lazaar needs to be given a run of games and we need to sign a proper winger, sick of having to watch Dummett struggle to handle a simple pass.

When we got a free kick for a Forest player being offside and he let us take it in their half To be fair that's the new rule now, you take the free kick where the player touches the ball so he was correct with that decision No idea why they needed to change the rule like The player that played the pass or the player that is offside? If it's the latter then he can't have been offside. If course you can be in an off side position when the ball is played but run towards your goal and receive the pass when in an on side position.

Think I'd go along with that. Jury is very much out on Gamez and Lazaar, bar them I agree. Considering the limited time he had to scout and find players who were willing to drop down to the Championship and the ridiculous amount of players we needed, he did a fantastic job in the summer IMO

I like that Rafa isn't going to change tactics after a defeat. He's not a reactionary prick like Pardew who would go 'we need more fret' after failing to score at home so he sets us up in a way completely new to the players and no cunt knows what they are doing. Rafa believes in his ways and his system, one that has us sitting top at Christmas, and he won't change it because of a few bad performances and results, he sees the bigger picture.
