  1. Got the feeling that Walters (?) said something nasty to Ba in the aftermath, as he very suddenly got really aggressive.
  2. The thing I was most pleased with in the first half was that you could see the game plan wasn't just to try and out-battle them. If we'd tried that we would have struggled. Instead we used incredible pressing to hassle their very poor footballers into a lot of mistakes on the ball. Even their long balls were misdirected most of the time, they were under such pressure from our midfield and forwards. And then when we got the ball, we clearly wanted to use the pace of Obertan, Jonas and Ba to counter quickly. It's why the possession stats are probably in their favour, there was no point in us being patient today (which we have been in most of our games), we needed to get at them as quickly as possible. That first half was a tactical master work from Pardew.
  3. Both Stoke and Fulham would have been top half had they beaten us btw, so that "argument" can go fuck itself.
  4. And which one do you disagree with? Best could've had a 9 maybe? All 3. How does Best get 2.5 more than Raylor? Best was never .5 points behind Ba, same as Colo etc. Gave the ball away on a canny few occasions, poor at winning it back... Best played a massive part in all our goals and was very good in general play. Deserves his 8.5, I'd probably give him a 9 though. Don't agree with the Krul and Taylor ratings, mind.
  5. I remember last season we had that very problem though, we were a match for any of the top 4/6 but just couldn't get the results against the dross. It's going to be interesting to see this season if we're as competitive with the top teams as last season. Tottenham are probably the third best team in the league atm, their form is fantastic, and we matched them very well. Some might say we were lucky to get a draw in that game, IMO, we could easily have won it as we were at the very least as good as them.

    Alan Pardew

His post match interviews are always spot on, and he never bullshits or whinge about the officials.
  7. Fuck you, haters Best part today was when he wanted the towel, gave the ball just the quickest of wipes and then threw it short Problem, Pulis?

    Danny Guthrie

Best I've seen him play for us, was immense. Must've been fucking knackered towards the end.
  9. Was the R.Taylor free kick that almost took him out our first free kick? I can't remember any before that. And while we're on that, how is that not a yellow? He had absolutely no intention what-so-ever at playing the ball, just jumped straight in to Taylor.

That's a 9.9/10. The 0.1 is obviously for bringing Perch on, though I suppose it's nice to give the opposition a chance.
  11. Before I go into how fucking great we were today, let me just say this: FUCK YOU TONY PULIS YOU DISGUSTING PIECE OF SHIT. How the fuck do you have the audacity to whinge to the fourth ref about our throw ins? Look at your own team you fucking shithead.
  12. Cabaye and Guthrie the two that have covered the most distance in the first half. Not at all surprised.
  13. He's been more direct today than recently, lush cross for the goal as well. Best has been fantastic today as well like, playing to keep his place and does it wonderfully. Christ man, I'm a massive Ben Arfa fan, and I can't even find a place for him in our team at the moment
  14. We've been excellent, fucking excellent! They've created nowt, and it's only thanks to Begovic that it's not 4-0. MASSIVE credit to Pardew for this, our tactics have been spot on. The gameplan has been clear as day, and it's working a treat. Hit them hard on quick counter attacks when we're on the ball and put them under pressure as soon as we lose it, and the team has responded to it perfectly. Fantastic stuff.

    Sunderland...

Can't believe it's been a year already, what a fantastic day/night that was
  16. Man Utd back up CM - Anderson, Cleverley Chelsea back up CM - Meireles, Mikel Tottenham back up CM - Sandro, Huddelstone
  17. I haven't. I'm just going to trust Pardew on that one tbh. From what I've seen of them, I'd have probably gone with Gosling, but it's pretty much a coin toss anyway.
  18. Howay man Pardew, you need to start playing Santon in the league. I can live with Obertan and Guthrie, but his faith in our average at best full backs are worrying. EDIT: Our bench is fucking excellent
