Managed to show some incredible restraint to celebrate his goal without making a sound as the stepson had finally managed to fall asleep in the sofa

Look at Schär tonight. He pretty much played as a hybrid CB and CM (N-O finally got their wish), pushing up loads when we were pressing and leaving the back line to Lascelles and Burn & Trippier. So fucking brave to instead of us just sitting deep to defender against Mbappes and Dembeles pace, he found a way to make sure they didn't even get a chance to run at our defence. Obviously it was exactly that which lead to his goal, but he was doing it all game. Think the only time PSG managed to play through it was the Dembele chance when Lascelles and Burn were closing him down in the second half.

Also compare him and Bruno to the PSG players. There's about five of them just not giving a fuck, while our lads are busting a gut to score.

Must have been one of the best SJP has ever been, sounded incredible on the TV. Swedish commentators were in awe towards the end of the game as well

First half he was absolutely terrific, wasnt as good in the second but knew his main objective in the second half was to work hard and press and he did that perfectly. His shot for the first goal is really good, one of those where so many strikers mishit and skies it or something, but he gets it down and on target forcing a good save.

Honestly, that is probably the best CB performance I've ever seen from a Newcastle player. Howe is a fucking genious for how he used him tonight as well, with him moving up in midfield when the rest of the team pressed. Fucking incredible how he followed those instructions as well.
