Agreed 100% When the hell is Andy Carroll going to be worth more than £35m? Even if he realises his potential I assume by then there would be some kind of financial regulations in place within football to stop enormous fees in the future. So long as the money is invested in the TEAM in the summer, Ashley did a very good bit of business with the Carroll sale. agree. especially when caroll asked nufc to match the wages liverpool was offering him! atm i like the wage-structure we have....its the only way to progress and it will more or less only attract players who really want to play for us! Yep. Said the same thing myself yesterday. Would be gutted if we broke our wage structure to accomodate a money-hungry player. The wage bill should be a bit less in the championship. Thats where unambitious, badly run clubs wind up. What about ambitious clubs that spend way beyond their means and end up with financial problems so big that they get a 10 pt deduction and get relegated?

Thank Christ. Well yes, but I was relating it to goals. We'll still have Ameobi as our best striker up front. When he's back. Sorry like but with the strikers we have left no point having Joey wide right any more.. back in the middle for me in a 4-5-1 -----------------Harps Simo-----Willi-----------Colo--------Jose ------------------Tiote Jonas----Bart-----------Ireland-----HBA ---------------Best/Ranger That's an interesting midfield, and could well be our best option. I'd worry though that we'd miss Nolan's goals, in which case, I'd drop Jonas and have a three man midfield of Barton-Tiote-Nolan, with Ireland and HBA in free roles within a 4-3-2-1. Tough one. Skirge is bonkers wanting to drop Nolan for Jonas. What you said is how I'd play with everyone fit.

Class interview with him on nufctv. "We deserved to lose. When we defend all the game and don't attack, a goal is going to come. I made a mistake for the goal and for that I'm sad." Asked about the last few days, if it's been hard: "No, not really. Of course Andy Carroll was a big player for us, but I think it'll be good for Newcastle, and good for him. Everyone must understand him, he got a much, much better contract than here."

Worse decision than selling Carroll.

I'll bet you £100 that we won't go down this year. PM me for details. Get any reply? No. Offer still stands.

Welcome back, son. We've missed you. Five points I reckon his suspension has cost us, btw.

Played on the wings most of his career though tbf. He surely can't be much worse as a striker than what we've currently got?
-
80k being reported.
-
Still visibly affected the players IMO. It was the blue shirts.
-
Excellent first half, then he just felt sorry for Fulham and stopped playing in the second half.
-
Just a reminder: He wouldn't have played today anyway.
-
Get young Shane on. He'll offer us more.
-
The only times he's kept possession has been when he's passed it back to Jose.
-
Howay man, it's the blue kit.
-
Fucking blue kits

Is Richardson the ginger in TT's avatar?

Stoke should be the target then, surely? As we don't have many games in March, hopefully we'll be able to play him quite a bit in behind-closed-doors friendlies and reserve games to get his fitness going.

Bloody hope not Yes he did. Heard it on the radio and seen it in print. I feel sorry for the players really. Just as they start to think the club is making progress, they as well as the fans get knocked back down to earth. Yet again they will have to resort to their mental strength and unity to push on. I wonder if this has damaged their relationship with Pardew. After insisting since he arrived that Carroll would not be sold and then saying he was involved in the decison to sell, how can the players trust what he says now. Hughton protected them - I think Pardew will end up alienating them. Nowt wrong with that quote IMO. He's just saying what we are all feeling, he'll probably assure the lads that it will be for the greater good come summer and that it is up to them now to prove themselves.

Why does every single Liverpool supporter seem to think that Torres loves that club so much? It's about as daft as saying that Oba loved Newcastle more than anything in the world.

That is well out of order from Nolan, he should have kept his mouth shut.
-
Aye, me too. It probably helps that Carroll hasn't played for us for quite some time and that he wouldn't play tomorrow anyway.
-
Barton and Jose will have seen players leave the clubs they've been at before. Like I said, Hughton getting sacked was infinitely worse than Carroll being sold, if Barton was prepared to sign a contract despite his manager getting sacked, he won't care too much about Carroll being sold for a new British record transfer fee.

Considering he's a couple of weeks away from being fit, I'd prepare myself for disappointment
