I hope it's sorted out this week.

Craig David outside SJP? i know we are a circus but surely not. I've resigned to calling him that after stumbling along to a game a year or so ago (forgot which one) with 2 mates half-cut. He was there doing a piece to camera, to which one of my mates shouted behind poor David, in a Bo Selecta style voice, "Daaaaaaavid Craaaaig, on his North-east tour". A pathetic attempt to get on TV I know, but the horror on the camera mans face was a picture! Maybe NSG can give you a few pointers.

Have kind of kept away from watching football all weekend.... what were they like at your place ? Not very good, but that's not what I'm basing it on. They remind me of our team when we finished 4th- getting a large slice of luck in that they nick a lot of their wins by 1 goal and are not actually as good as their position suggests. I think they will end up finishing about 7th and will need to invest again in the summer to maintain that kind of position. Up front in particular needs some serious cash. With all respect, they have a more talented squad than you had when you came 4th.

Good move, that. I'm loving the fact the writer of that stream of unmitigated shite has got Tim and Gary Cahill mixed up. Lovely jubbly. How are these people appointed?

Shearer did have an influence on the team but that doesn't have to come vocally, his sheer presence on the pitch and how he played on the pitch would have influenced the players around him, obviously been a manager you can't give that presence or example.

Souness. Fair comment. But at least Hughes is getting better with time? Yes because we value time up here at Newcastle don't we? I meant more the fact that everyone in the world (barring a daft balding cunt) knew Souness was shite, getting shitter, and it was going to be a disaster. Owen didn't, the daft cunt signed because of him http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/9512/trophy11sd0.jpg Synical bastard! You're right.

FFF president 'reassured' Houllier not moving to Tyneside

Possibly, though i have the feeling he made that up to make the Redknapp denial look like he wasn't the only manager we were looking at. -
Not Ashley's choice of manager, that's it.

What a run, what a goal, Jason Roberts, 1-2.

He's done a fantastic job at Villarreal, took them to the Champions League Semi-Final, lost Forlan to Athletico Madrid and they're still up in a Champions League spot so far this season. -
Bolton 1-0 Blackburn, Nolan, what a goal.

Does that explain why it worked for Gullit at chelsea? Does that explain why Gullit failed at Feyenoord? I find it utterly amazing that you could consider Louis Van Gaal (A Champions League winner) on a par with Ruud Gullit. I'm not comparing the two as managers man, I'm saying the outcome would be similar. IMO of course. Isn't it always in your opinion if you're saying it?

McClaren.

Anyone else think Pedro Mendez is underrated? Hear a lot about Utaka,Muntari,Krancjar etc Looks like a very tidy player indeed, doesn't often lose the ball.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swansea_city/7185930.stm Sir John Hall has suggested that managerless Newcastle could consider Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez as a candidate to go to St James' Park. The Magpies life president and former chairman told BBC 5 Live's Sportsweek that Martinez might be an outside bet. "Do you go for a big name, like the (Guus) Hiddinks, or do you try and find someone who can give us the football we had under (Kevin) Keegan," Hall said. "There's the Swansea manager, Martinez, who seems to be turning them around." Swansea are flying high in League One this season, three points clear of Nottingham Forest at the top of the table and with a game in hand. The south Wales club maintained their momentum on Saturday by overcoming a spirited Luton, beating the financially stricken club 3-1 at Kenilworth Road. Swansea had their own brush with liquidation in 2002 and Martinez has every sympathy with the Hatters' plight. "It's a sad situation, a club like Luton Town with a huge history, to be in this situation and I think we all feel for them," Martinez said. "We hope they will turn the corner very quickly and they will have a bright future." -
Don't worry, MOTD didn't even show it. Why does that not surprise me. I'd put him in the same bracket as Young and Bentley, all different types of wingers.
