  1. "Cherry on top of the pie"
  2. I'm feeling weird, is it good? Is it bad? I honestly don't know.
  3. Not sure what to think.
  4. Who is going to get it though? Shearer has been ruled out, Houllier has been ruled out, there isn't many candidates.
  5. I think they'll appoint Shepherd, it's all been a cunning plan by Ashley,Mort and Shepherd to sink the club once and for all.
  6. Never have to say im pretty surprised as well tbh. i reckon, out of those meantioned relaistically, there is more support for deschamps than anyone else I wonder if the votes would be different if one wasn't more linked than the other, people could have voted on the fact Deschamps is much more likely to come.
  7. Aye, I'm surprised at such goodwill towards him tbh. Not to say he isn't good (I have no idea), but he's done nothing compared to Houllier, for example. A foreign Hughes? Yes, Deschamps is the same age as Houllier and has had the same amount of time to make an impact Where did I say that? I'm talking about the difference in response by people on here. Houllier with all his achievements got nothing like this enthusiasm. Maybe because the teams he has worked under haven't played the attractive football the people on here are looking for. Maybe so. I've never really seen it, as I admitted above. What kind of style do his teams generally play? Other than with Juventus in a lower league. Attacking, you saw that throughout the Champions League campaign, the wins over Real Madrid and Chelsea were very good games and Monaco took the game to both of them, Morientes and Giuly were influential in their success and I'm sure everyone remembers the 8-3 win over Deportivo La Coruna, players such as Morientes, Giuly and Rothen were the main attacking players in their team, the point is the intent was to play good football and attack teams. So do people prefer the promise of good football over a proven winner? Both in an ideal world, it's difficult to compare, both have managed under different circumstances, it depends on whether Ashley sees it as too much of a risk.

  11. Rather have Houllier but I'd rather Shearer got it than any other British manager.
  12. It doesn't work like that, and weren't those basically the same targets as Allardyce? The problem wasn't with the targets set by Allardyce, it was the dross served up by him. If the football is good, surely this will reflect in the league position? Avoiding relegation and top 10 second season, realistic maybe but I'm not sure the fans would be satisfied with that.

  14. There's no quotes. None here either to be fair. I think everyone realised that was far too short-sighted to be true though. Can't decide if I'm still excited by all this, more anxious now. Massive decision. I have said this all along - if they get this one wrong, the club is in DEEP do-do ; a relegation battle will beckon if we fail to beat Bolton & Boro at SJP as we are only 6 points in front now... Whilst I can understand that they are reviewing all options, they should have done that before firing Allardyce because time is now of the essence. If we stay out of trouble the club can make real strides next season, but if we get drawn in to the relegation scrap and lose, they might as well sell SJP to Morrisons because I reckon there will be a real drop-off in Season Ticket sales....... Depressed?
  15. I'm really not too bothered now, we were on the verge of appointing Redknapp, we can't really do any worse than that, I hope.
