It's still likely that from tonight's games, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool will progress. We missed our shot in the late 90s/ early 2000s where few sides took it seriously allowing the likes of Leicester/ Boro to win it. Too many of the top teams fancy it now. I'd only feel like underdogs against Arsenal, that's one team. Spurs are still a better side than us. Chelsea are still in it as well.

I reckon we'll see this when everyone is fit (maybe not Simpson). Krul Anita Taylor Coloccini Santon Tioté Cabaye Jonas Ben Arfa Ba Cissé Looks Skirgeesque, but we're practically playing like that atm and it gets the best out of many players. (Not saying that we're playing well right now, just that many of our players play their best football in those positions.) It's kind of like how Milan played a couple of years ago when they shoved Kaka or Rivaldo infield and had Cafu down their entire right wing. Basically moving our three man midfield into a four man midfield when needed, but Ben Arfa roaming about any way he wants.

Good to hear Pardew praising him. He's on the verge of being very potent, not just there yet. Need to start converting his raids in to crosses and shots. Very hard to handle.

Not many like him around. The goal he scored against Bolton last season, I'm not sure if there are more than 2-3 players in the world capabel of doing that at the highest level. In the Premiership, maybe Hazard, maybe Nani on his day. In the rest of the world, Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar. Can't think of anyone else. And Catts of course.

Regarding that portrait of Rodgers, Winter wrote this on his blog today; "The picture was presented to Rodgers by a grateful group of disabled fans during his time as Swansea City manager after he’d helped out another charity event. Will struggle as long as he keeps scoring 2 per season. Might play for 15 more years though.

Perfectly summed up. Jonas/Santon sometimes ends with Santon drifting in on his right but taking one touch too many and consequently losing it.

He's flying at the moment. Superb start to the season. Most enjoyable player in the league.

Hatem is taking the piss here. Ba is on form as well. Perch brilliant, Cabaye growing in to it. Need a 2nd to kill them, they look sort of dangerous.

Of all the shit starts we've made, this is the worst

During Ba's intergalatic super spell last autumn, he was actually a very good link-up player as well. His performance against Manchester United at SJP is as good as any I've seen from a forward player in NUFC.

They were playing young boys, so not really.
