Says a lot about Speed, again. Bellamy has had his fair share of enemies, the way he fell out with Carver and then later Shearer, Speed - being a close friend of the two of them - would strike me as the type of person who'd give up on him in the same way that Shearer alledgedly had enough of him. Obviously he wasn't. Bellamy is still one of my all-time favourite players. His character is complex and the way he left the club was not worthy. I think his ego is necessary in order for him to be the player he is even if it means he's never been able to settle. Still think he played the football of his life at NUFC.

I believe that was the reason, yes. They could probably tell from my IP or something. I wasn't even granted an account if I remember correctly. Don't know why I wanted to sign up there. Wasn't there supposed to be a bunch of - god I hate the term - ITKs there?

Are there any good documentaries or written pieces on Walllsend Boys' Club around? I'm writing a column about local players coming through and trying to narrow it down to NUFC. Their website is pretty awful in terms of information. I'd like quotes from players that have come through there or just other stories about the place.

There are plenty of young, exciting players around. Many of them have more than ONE Premier Leauge start. I think Nathan Dyer's form in the last year or two should have earnt him the call way ahead of Sterling.

I would imagine it being the other way around with Pardew not trusting Anita to play in a midfield two as he would have to cover a lot more ground. I'd love it if we went there with Tiote-Jonas behind Cabaye and just bossed the game. I know we could. Still waiting to see this: Krul Anita Taylor Coloccini Santon Tioté Jonas Cabaye Hatem Marveaux/Ba Cissé -
Dyer has earned the call so much more than fucking Sterling. Shocking. Really annoyed and I don't even give a fuck about England. I think it has to do with the Liverpool aspect. Kelly, Henderson, Sterling, Gerrard, Johnson and Downing. Soon enough you'll start Jack Robinson, Jay Spearing and Shelvey as well. Tragic.

How the fuck did Sterling get a call-up? Wonder what the likes of Nathan Dyer thinks of this.

He's been out for 9 years so not sure it's much better timing putting him on. -
If that's true then we're doomed defensively. We'll need to score 5 goals a game.

Don't know if I'm allowed to post this, should be though. Swedish magazine (free and available in sports stores) did a very good piece on Newcastle last spring. Pardew talks up Remie Streete a lot, but they also focused on Campbell a fair bit. This interview is from that issue.

WHAT THE FUCK

Wouldn't think either a too great an obstacle, actually. Gosling's not really had a good game for us yet and Vuckic is competing for a different position. Aye, it's rather Bigi that's pushed him down the pecking order.
-
But we are in a position where we want to see an acutal footballer at right back.

He was poor against Atromitos at SJP. Pretty much that performance and the one at Anfield last season where he's not been faultless. One of the best keepers in the league, probably in Europe.

In 30 World Cup-qualifiers during the 21st century, Sweden have conceded only 12 goals. No Mellberg now though so that's probably about to change.

Now that makes no sense, does it? We'd clearly benefit from more teams being forced to work their finances properly. I'm content with the fact that Champions League is the key to mount a serious threat to the top four. However, that will not be the case as long as the FFFP rules do not apply. I think our policy, and experience from working within the limitations that we've set ourselves in recent years, would give us a massive advantage was it to be implemented. Strange. We're probably banking on other teams making tits of themselves and going bust, thus leaving us free to take the glory. So basically hoping that Manchester City & United, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and maybe Liverpool go bust. Would be the ultimate "Guess who wins again".

They spoke about Henriquez on the last World Football Phone-In. Description sounded very much like Chicharito. Tim Vickery said his movement around the box is superb and that he's a very composed finisher for his age. Apparently Ferguson is not planning on loaning him out. At that age he'll need games in order to keep developing.

Gregory van der Wiel has spoken to Dutch media (Algemeen Dagblad) and said the following: "I don't know how serious their interest was, but it was never in my mind to move to Newcastle" "I was raised in Amsterdam and I want to live in a big city. I couldn't picture myself living in the middle of nowhere in Newcastle anyway". Well...

Was impressed with Armstrong as well. Looked to have superb technique for a 15 year old. Think he's in the England U16 squad or something as well.

Signed for Besiktas, didn't he? Not sure, doesn't seem official or anything, just reports that they've agreed on terms etc. Anyway, just a thought. Was impressed with him last season.
