Just seen a statement from Lyon about having to sell before they buy. I can see us go there for Cissokho or someone young like Alexandre Lacazette.

Get him Derek!

I remember when Sir Bobby said he was "going to Inter Milan, getting a 2-2 draw in Inter Milan and we know we should have won in Inter Milan". It's always sounded weird and I don't think anyone says it outside of England. It's Inter, simple.

No to toivonen, we can do a lot better. Why is tavernier not signed up yet?

Spoke briefly to a friend who plays for Melbourne Heart when he was first linked, he said this lad was the real deal. Hopefully he'll turn out to be just that. I'll try to get some more info on him...

Carroll offers more than Welbeck at this point. I think Terry has been your best player. Parker terrible.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Big article on him in our biggest newspaper over here. Says he's integral to everything they do and has proven himself one of the best players in the tournament. Him containing Iniesta tonight will be key for them. -
Was just thinking the same. By far the worst journalist related to NUFC. I bet more than 70% of the members on this board would do a lot better.

Also, Olof Mellberg, what a man. That's the sort of international you want. Always raises his game. True winner and warrior. Magnificent tonight.

I thought your keeper kept the score down against us tbh. He made one good save from Terry and one from Gerrard when we had basically lost. He then conceded when Walcott crossed it towards the middle of our goal.

My biased opinion: we played some of the best football so far in this tournament. We did enough going forward to deserve to go through and suffered from a bad goalkeeper and that fucking Lustig not guarding his post against Ukraine. And I well and truly hope Z has silenced all his critics once and for all. Best striker in Europe.

Sebastian Giovinco returning to Juventus according to his agent.

I think we would pay that as well. didn't pay much less for Santon I think so yeah very possible we'd pay that but obvious we're chancing our arms at a lower fee I think we do it with every signing we try to make tbf.....the Luuk De Jong offer is below thier value, Cisse was below thier value, Ben Arfa was etc etc. It's just smart negotiating start low and just go from there.... much rather that then do what some other clubs do and pay more than what a club wants just because they can. With Cissé we waited until he was available at that price. I hope we don't do the same this time around. As for De Jong, I can't see us bidding more than £10m.

Scott Wilson and Lee Ryder seem to think this one's genuine.

Fucking Isaksson can fuck right off. Cost us the game.

Iniesta is my favourite player to watch after Hatem. Absolute genius.
-
We are fucking rubbish. Worst performance so far, worse than fucking Ireland. Go home.

Violence, racist undertones and the folly of UEFA's spin doctoring
AlanSkÃrare replied to Ishmael's topic in Football
From what I understand that's not really the case. These groups have infiltrated lots of supporter groups and taken over. Although my sources are news reports and my father who's working with these things. In my opinion, as long as there are racist and anti-semitic symbols visible in their stadiums, during top flight games, on a frequent basis, there is an issue that needs to be strongly considered if someone is to host a EC or WC. -
Violence, racist undertones and the folly of UEFA's spin doctoring

That's what I meant by responsibility. Platini and Blatter are so full of poorly written shit apologies and explanations instead of condemning these matters. It was the same thing when Suarez abused Evra, all of them explaining and showing understanding instead of condemning all sorts of racism. In my opinion, the extremist culture surrounding stadiums Poland and Ukraine should have been enough to not consider their bids. That's not saying these problems don't exist anywhere else, they do, but they seem to have excelled around football in these countries. Why reward them and tone things down? What sort of signal is that to the groups targeted? Unacceptable. -

Nobody from UEFA or FIFA takes any responsibility in their selection of host nations. These countries have huge issues with their views on human rights and prosecution of minorities. Those issues are to be well clear of the stadiums and not affect these competitions. Beyond me that this will be followed by Russia and Qatar hosting World Cups. -
I agree he probably isn't the best player at the club, but he certainly the most talented and enjoyable to watch. His highest level is unbeatable. The reason we love him is his love for the game. He plays it the way every player would and should love to play it. Everything he does is done with such elegance and class, not players like him around at the top level. I was watching some Zidane footage the other day. In no way am I comparing them, but they share the same approach, using their exceptional talent to solve every situation.

One of the all time lows for me. I was involved in the Protest after as well. The Charlton match a week earlier was just as bad. In some weird way those games were more depressing than the relegation for me.

Yacine Brahimi (linked with us I think) has handed in a transfer request at Rennes.

I'll get my coat then.

Matt Spiro @mattspiro France RB Debuchy says he wants move abroad and 'likes style' of EPL. Told me this week he's been talking to ex-Lille pal Cabaye about #NUFC Btw, we need the twitter bullshit thread back.
