  1. Good formation change, I think we'll contain them better this way.
  2. If we "can't believe it" it'll be Martins, Carroll or Enrique. I would believe it if N'Zogbia was to come back, for example.
  3. I really want to read Caulkin's piece on Shola, Harper, Bobby and the Champions League in The Times. Anyone care to paraphrase it if they've got it?
  4. Heung-Min's supposed to be class. Fans were all excited about him when I was at a game there last year. Had no impact then but I think he's been a bright spark in an awful Hamburg side this season.
  5. Kyle's face after celebrating for 10 seconds and then realising it was disallowed is priceless. So close to tears.
  6. Are we absoultely certain that England won't be given five teams again if this happens? Or was it just a one off due to the magnificent stature of Liverpool FC?
  7. Who's suspended for Chelsea now? Terry, Drogba, Meireles?
  8. If it coincides with any important games for us they'll probably say no. Hopefully. They have to.
  9. Win at Wigan, draw at Chelsea, win City, draw Everton. That will do it. If Swansea can beat City, so can we, if Wigan can push Chelsea at their place, if Villa can win there, so can we. At Everton, they'll hopefully be well clear of Liverlol, meaning we can go there and get something. I reckon they'll want us to get 4th as well

same guy was expressing shock at colo being in the team of the year; i think he might be the only frenchman on the planet who doesn't watch us tbh. It's weird though. I have always had the impression that Auclair likes us, maybe we're becoming too good and challening Chelsea and Arsenal might affect that view. He also suggested Tioté should be in PFA Team of the Year. Clearly hasn't seen much of us, but that statement is hard to back up as Cheik has only played 20 games this season.

The Chelsea game was horrible in so many ways. They should definately have had David Luiz sent off early on for that foul on Ba, then we create loads of chances, hit the woodwork etc. We really forced them to defend second half until Taylor went off and they scored two when we had no defenders at all.
  12. What's up with Adam Campbell, when is he back?

  14. I have to check it every morning to see if it was just a dream. f***ing unreal. This forum is and has been a brilliant read in the past year. I've always enjoyed it more than any other football related site, but this year it has become even better. Thanks all.

  16. Would be f***ing fantastic if he did that. But on the other hand I'm happy if Pardew doesn't resort to Harry's ways.

  18. Good discussion about Spurs and Redknapp on Sunday Supplement. Apparently Scott Parker hinted in an interview after the 1-5 defeat to Chelsea that the squad has lost a bit of faith in Harry and the other way around. He has continued to lower their targets all season (from title to third to fourth) which implies that he isn't sure whether his players are capable of reaching whatever target they have. Add to that his constant talking about who to bring in etc etc and I'm not surprised one bit. Pardew manages that aspect brilliant in my opinion. He bigs players up at the right time for the right reasons. He isn't looking to far ahead, he isn't saying who he'd like instead of his current players and he hasn't been talking targets all season up until now. Big difference, and you'd expect better from a manager who has 30 years of experience.
  19. Haven't felt like this about Newcastle for ten years. Couldn't stop smiling yesterday and kept on talking about it all night.
  20. Such a vital figure. I won't be concerned one bit going into next season with Jonas, Cabaye and Cheik as our midfield three. In fact, I'd be very happy to do just that. Jonas' work ethic is brilliant. He's a good passer of the ball, he knows how to win a free kick, he knows how to go past his man, he plays the right pass and he is tracking every single player that runs through his space. Absolutley phenomenal in this position and I'd love for him to stay there. After the past few years, he's grown into one of those players you can't imagine us lining up without. May it remain that way. Incredible servant and a brilliant footbaler. Howay Jonas.
  21. It kind of has been for quite some time. The only players that really have excelled are Scott Parker and James Milner, Damien Duff has rediscovered some sort of form, Aaron Hughes has maintained his level of performances, Bellamy has enjoyed success to some extent.. but struggling to think of many others? Even going back over the years. Bassong (loaned), Given (Villa are shit) , Carroll , Enrique (benched), Barton (occasionally benched), Nolan (might stay in Championship), Beye (Doncaster), Owen , N'Zogbia (did well initially, faded at Villa), Martins (Rubin Kazan), Jenas (loaned), Dyer (never did well), Emre (back to Turkey).
