    Gervinho

http://followeverton.com/2011/05/29/lilles-gervinho-rejects-everton-move/? Could Everton be the other club? Thought they had no money what so ever?
  2. Ben Arfa would probably have that one covered. Nolan was often too easy to pick up and man-mark this season when put in a more forward minded position, he has to come from deep down and ghost into his positions. Tioté - Cabaye Ben Arfa Nolan (Gervinho) (Gameiro) Think I'd rather have Jonas on the wing and HBA in the middle though.
  3. Gervinho is probably not intended as an out and out striker, couldn't think of a better realistic player for us to put on the right wing. Really happy we're in for him, would be remarkable if we'd get him.
  4. Who was the black guy that played for France and scored 2 while we were linked with him? Bafetimbi Gomis
  5. Boyhood fan, fee agreed, having medical tonight. Probably.
  6. Total Sport saying "club is saying nothing about Gameiro bid".
  7. If we lose Barton and Enrique this summer, next season will be a struggle for sure. Him and Nolan are the core of this side in terms of spirit. What the fuck is going on....
  8. So Sunderland look like they'll start off the summer by signing DJ Campbell, David Vaughan and Kieran Westwood? Ambitious.
  9. Best transfer moves we've made since that bid for Modric. What an exciting side we'll put out if we get those two.
  10. He's done very well for us tbh, he's a constant threat and seems to know where the goal is. Works hard for the team as well. Wouldn't call him the new Drogba though Also don't think he's anywhere near good enough at the moment for the Premier League. AIK would probably sell for £1-2m, depending what happens with our other striker. How good is he though? See Aftonbladet (biggest Swedish newspaper) also made an article on this. Well, I've only seen him play about five times, but against Swedish league quality defenders, he's certainly a very good player. He's scored 4 in 7 I think, and looks a constant thread. He's got decent pace and strength, he knows how to keep defenders on their toes. Good enough for a step up to the Premier League though? Nah, not right now any way. Allsvenskan is still unbelievably shit. On par with League 1, bottom half. Four in seven there doesn't get you a Premier League contract.
  11. For Charlton in 2005/2006 I think. Played 18 times, and scored 2 goals. One against Manchester City and the other....you guessed it....Newcastle United They all do Anyway, we're all judging him on his performances in the Championship, and the fact that he is even considered by Premiership teams is down to Capello's decision earlier in the season. I think there are loads of strikers that will be up for free that contribute in different ways that Bothroyd. We've already got the sort of player he represents in Leon Best.
  12. When did he last play in the Premiership?
  13. Just at a look at Yven Moyo's Facebook, stumbled upon this photo of him, Ben Arfa nad Ibrahima Tandia, young striker from Sochaux, seemingly in Newcastle training gear. Is this news? Have we signed him as well? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=125861450821973&set=a.102690639805721.5278.100001943562527&type=1&theater
  14. http://www.mercato365.com/infos-clubs/lorient/article_532582_l1-lorient-Gameiro-dans-l-attente.shtml? Says pretty much the same thing. They seem sure of the fact that we've bid for him though.
  15. Guidetti has loads of potential and his attitude is borderline psycho in terms of his will to succeed. Would be a good squad player for next season.
  16. We've been linked with Emana for ages. Still, would be disappointed if he's the type of player we're targetting.
  17. This is just saddening to me. Losing a player we all love, a cracking player at that, one of the best in his position, knowing we won't be able to replace him properly. Can't be arsed looking for positives to take out, it's just shit.
  18. Not really the reason why they've lost their way tbh. Strikers that can't score became evident when van der Vaart had a dip in form halfway through the season. Bale at LM was never one of the main reasons why they performed well in the league, beyond me how he got Player of the Year.

    Alan Pardew

He wasn't being too proud to just keep on doing what Hughton was doing. He's shown signs of motivational and tactical skills that Hughton perhaps lacked (especially the latter), not been afraid to change things around even though his options have been far less experienced than the ones that have let him down. His man-management of Ranger, Steven Taylor and the way he has eased Shane Ferguson into action has been spot on. He was right about Krul, and he is addressing his problems best he can. I still want to see whether he was brought in as Ashley's puppet - which we all fear/ed. This summer will tell. Here's hoping.
  20. Didn't Stoke say Demba Ba's knee was a bomb waiting to explode? Wouldn't trust West Ham's judgement about anything right now. No thanks.
  21. Will be a good squad player to have next season. If things don't work out I say loan him out january. I'd rather we play him down the right than knowing what we (won't) get from Ryan Taylor.
