I'd pay up to about £15m for Sturridge. He's done at least as much as Carroll, fee would be justified in the current climate. Exactly what we need, plus I'd like us to sign at least one English player. We've got loads of money from the Carroll sale, spend them on a striker rather than Matuidi.

"I'm pretty relaxed that he can be a success at Newcastle if we can get him but it's a big if at the moment because there are some big hurdles to get across."
I don't think I've ever been that excited about an NUFC player before. Was in my doorm room at university, going absolute bananas about him until the goal. Pretty much blacked out after that.

Don't really understand the part where he says "I've already made myself clear, things will be sorted sooner or later, I want to enjoy my summer". That's not what he's said at all.
So Douglas is saying this new striker bid is for a striker playing for a team described as "one of NUFCs favourite hunting grounds". Deportivo or Lille are teams that spring to mind.
Can't say this enough, he's a super signing. Match-winner, game-changer and he's obviously matured a lot since we sold him. I'd be disappointed if we don't go for him.
Sturridge or Doumbia out of those, for me at least. Who else could we be interested in?
Ola Toivonen, Stefan Kiessling, Robert Lewandowski, Nikola Kalinic, Moussa Sow, Papiss Demba Cissé, Modibo Maiga, Didier Ya Konan?

After 13yrs Kenny Dalglish has finally agreed to pay £55m (Henderson/Carroll) damages to N East football for his disastrous stint at #nufc
I really want N'Zogbia, think it would be a fantastic signing with him being a player who seemingly wants to be here and who's a proven top performer in the Premiership. I rate him twice as high as Henderson and pretty much as high as Ashley Young, and with that in mind, £12m is a cracking price.
