Christ on a bike. Southampton or Swansea maybe.

I didn't have any Chelsea players at all ffs, this is gonna ruin my team, and I don't know who he's gonna play
-
I'm glad you mentioned that, back to the drawing board...

always thought ours was more to do with 1985. Beardsley's hat-trick, rather than fighting. the line "the sunderland ran away" should be a clue. anyhoo, there was a vogue for while of having derbies on new years day (to save fans having to travel the length of the country.....makes sense really, todays fixture lists compilers could learn a lot) so manmy clubs will have a song about chasing their local rivals on that day. That makes sense.

I thought that initially, but what if he ends up on the left? He'll be doing as much defending/tracking back as HBA and picking the ball up in our half.

I was talking about crucial for Pardew. If nothing looks like it has changed after a few games, then I can see him getting some major stick. I was talking to Brett. I don't think he'll get much stick at all, everyone's got their cheap seats and the expectations have been lowered. -

A good start's not crucial when you've got a competent manager. -

This is the way I look at it. We're not gonna win anything, so why don't we have a good time instead? This is certainly not the 'rather lose 4-3' argument btw, I want to win, but when you've got bad football and bad results it's not a nice mix. -
We fucking desperately need someone to kick it to, this is bad news.

What will it take you to change your mind? I'm not having the whole good football bullshit, Wigan went down with that. Position wise? Top 4? Top 6? Top 8? ....a trophy? What will it take for people to accept Pardew again and support him and the players? Ahh right. You see, I AM having the whole good football bullshit. In fact, that's why I watch the game, to get some enjoyment from it. I want to see the team set out with the INTENT to win a game of football proactively, and I want to see it against pretty much every team we play. I want to see the likes of Jonas and Tiote dropped, I want to see the team set up to play fucking football and not stop the opposition, every week. Incidentally, the Wigan argument is total bollocks as I'm sure you know, we're not comparable with them in terms of the players we can attract. We can afford to go out on the pitch and try and win matches because we've got the players to do it. It's no surprise to see you resorting to it though because other than 'just support Pardew because he's our manager' you've got nowt. I support NUFC, I don't have to lie to myself about the quality of our manager to do that. -

To be honest Brett I had more time for your posts when you were just blindly choosing to believe everything would be fine. Nothing you've said about the way the team plays under Pardew makes me think we're going anywhere with him in charge. He's shite. -

Was just thinking the other day it's been far too quiet in terms of outgoings. -

I don't even think anyone rates him anymore, you just get the odd person who wants to say he deserves a chance but they always go too far with it. I don't know why they bother tbh. -

Actaully a very good post. I wouldn't say i berate anyone who expresses being fed up, i can see it's understandable, it's the hatred position people take on him, no matter what he achieves here, he won't be good enough because it's Alan Pardew and he's not a huge managerial name or got a pretty foreign name. I’ve got my doubts with him, I really have. I’m not fond of the way things have been going on the pitch either but I just feel for myself, the best way to go into this season now he is here, is to back him and the team and hope we get off to a good start and move on from there and hopefully the confidence gets built quickly which sets the foundations for rest of the season. I may add, I don’t think he’s this hoof ball manager everyone seems to label him as, certainly he has done it in the past, but I do think he is genuinely trying to play the right way with possession football but because we are lacking cutting edge, it’s not looking pleasing on the eye at this moment in time. How can anyone think this, man? Because Colo, MYM, Santon, Debuchy are footballers, if you think Pardew is basically just saying, when you receive the ball look for space further up field and hit the gaps, if not look for Cisse then i think it's you who should be in question and not myself. I'm just going off what i've seen of pre-season so far and towards back end of last season i think there was definitely a decrease in long balls from Jan onwards when Williamson (main culprit) was booted out of the team. I'm not saying he's trying to play this slick passing football, but i definitely feel like he wants possession to be high on our side to take control of games and you almost certainly can't get that by playing hoof ball giving it away cheaply 1. He plays the players he's given. 2. He chooses the wrong fucking players to play a passing game. 3. Over the last few seasons I've sat at St. James' and watched us repeatedly hit the front man or knock it over the top for Cisse to run onto. 4. His absolute priority is on keeping things tight. Always. 5. See point 4. -

"If there’s an obstacle in my way, I just have to jump over it. I think I’m the second longest serving Premier League manager, and longest serving manager at this club since Sir Bobby Robson. I’ve kind of earned my spurs, and sometimes in adversity I think the fans admire you more. I like to think last year I didn’t buckle and wasn’t negative about the players, the fans or the club."
