he'll be delighted at the thought that we're finally gonna be out back in our place and hasnt thought about it properly. all of our key players are fit, they've got quite a few concerns it seems, we're certainly in with a chance. -
He's played right and left back for both U21's and senior teams. He's drew plaudits as a left back. Primarily he's a left back. Do you reckon Phillip Lahm has people tapping him on the shoulder every 30 seconds saying he should play right back? No. Right footed left back, like Lahm, Maldini, Irwin, etc etc it can be done. considering my whole post was about the idea that playing him at RB shouldnt be sneered at if it's best for the team, you haven't made a single worthwhile point.
-
I'm not sure why the idea of him playing right back and getting another good full back to play LB has become a laughing matter? It would improve the team massively He plays right back for his country He may have been 'bought as a left back' but so what? It's the same sort of blinkered thinking that shepherd used when he would only hire british managers. It's not even as if playing Santon at RB would be hugely experimental or thinking out of the box, if there's someone better than raylor to play at LB it's the bleeding obvious thing to do. Whether it's likely or not is a different matter.

it's nice to support a club that aims to progress through signing the best footballers possible for the amount we can afford. rather than letting an old bloke spunk a RIDICULOUS amount of money on players and then complain because they're not getting more than everyone else. -

very good managers make the changes when they see fit, not when common footballing knowledge suggests so (after you lose a game or when you're losing a particular game and bring on subs to try and change things). that's what sets apart the absolute cream of the crop from the rest. -
Bruce's obsession with us has obviously trickled down to the squad, nevermind the fact that they continually drop their arse against us, why oh why does Bruce (and now his captain as well) constantly refer to 'north east' football when trying to absolve themselves of blame? Speak for your fucking selves you twats. Our expectations are reasonable, arguably have been for years and DEFINITELY have been since relegation. It's nothing to do with us that your fans don't see your team for what it is, AVERAGE. Their constant mentioning of 'north east' footballing matters is just ridiculous, why do they ALWAYS have to bring us into it? I'll answer my own question....because they're a provincial town that no-one cares about desperately trying to define themselves, and the only way they can do that is in opposition to us, and by including themselves in 'north east' football. No-one's fooled, you colossal twats.

i see adebayor as their main threat for definite, put him in and the whole team looks better -
fwiw i could barely watch rafa's liverpool side, utterly utterly awful. i see that phil's mentioned the 08/09 teams as being better so maybe i only remember the later days but my god are my memories of that team bad.

Where can these words be found? from .com
-
Note the highlighted word. We know the clubs aim was a top 10 finish this season, expectations will have no doubt been raised after the fantastic start to the season but a top 8 finish will be a great achievement in his first full season. that's a fair point and i agree a top 8 would be good stuff. still think it's a little bit over negative for him to be saying though, just continue to say our target is top 10 if you have to say anything at all

love the way bruce has to include 'north east' in his comments every time he says something like this to make himself sound credible. what the fuck is he talking about btw? they're bog standard average and their crowds are dwindling, nothing more nothing less.
-
glad to see some reasoned responses
-
He was obviously going to say that though. uh huh
-
encouraging words from jonas about him and colo wanting to stay, i'll be delighted if he signs an extension
