They did that yesterday and we bossed them all day,with a couple of scares. IMO we should be playing a near full strength team anyway,do that and we'll win. I reckon Kean will rest players anyway,they're already looking vulnerable

The wheels are bound to come off at some point but I think we'll carry two good performances forward into this,most of them know their place could be under threat which should stop us being complacent 1-1

i agree, thought he was a bit un-selfish a couple of times, particularly when he cut across for Best. with our two up top playing well i wonder what he's gonna have to do to get in the team though. in reality Best or Ba will get injured and that'll be the decision made for us.

convincing performance and good result, happy days. was occasionally a bit scary on the break but we defended well (colo and saylor) and averagely (raylor and simpson) when we had to. simpsons back heel into a blackburn player in the second half was particularly rubbish. Ba's first goal was brilliant, great strength, turn and finish. I am still slightly worried by Obertan's decision making like but he scared the shit out of them with his direct style and pace. The three best things about today imo were Ba scores a hat-trick, Pardew can't justify playing Shola again Tiote looked back to his old self, with a few mistakes mixed in for good measure Krul was passing out from the back, exactly what we should be doing against shit houses like Blackburn

The difference between Barton/nolan will be the quality of other teams that'll take him I think. He could play in Italy til he's 35. Still staggered Arsenal didn't try for him,he'd be pretty hard to replace like,given his qualities and his fitness record

Hope we setup to attack their weaknesses,the tricky bit is we have our own glaring weakness in raylor,especially if he's up against hoilett. Ask Jonas/Tiote help out depending on who's nearest and attack them everywhere else

I'm not sure I agree Nut, Colo's been here a lot longer and is also captain. That sort of thinking puts a pretty big obstacle in the way of progress as you can never push the boat out on a big contract when you think it will really benefit the team,as it would in this case imo. Players who have a problem with others being paid better are gonna have that problem at almost every club they play for,until they become the highest paid themselves. It's just a bit if an easy excuse for not shelling out imo.

Off the pitch? Carragher is a family man through and through and can often be seen on sunny afternoons taking his kids for a bike ride along the river front. He's as ordinary as anyone and you don't hear of him in the clubs or causing trouble anywhere. Aye. He's a good lad. He keeps injuring people on purpose to the training pitch, and stops his rambunctious, cheeky buddies from taking out a fellow professional. He stands by what he said but that was a personal thing between him and the guy in question. don't try and defend the comments in his book for gods sake, you'll end up looking as stupid as him.

I know people complain about our lack of depth in central defence, but we've got 3 fairly competent players fighting for 2 spots in Colo, Taylor and Williamson. I would think most clubs bench strength will be pretty similar. Kadar would have been a good 4th option a year ago but I'm not sure what's happened to him since. Perch isn't ideal as a last resort but how many clubs have good 4th options in that area? 'Perch isnt ideal' is far too kind.
