Haway Dave, we all know there's intense negotiations going on 'The player is worth 8M Euros' 'We'll give you 20K' '8M Euros' '25k?' '8M Euros' 'But he wants to play for us and we can pay him a tenner a week more than you do. 30k?'

like the look of him a lot, he also seems canny at football. sign him.
  6. Said in the other thread, I think a 4th centre-back is more important than another striker at the moment. A midfield of Tiote, Cabaye, Marveaux, Ben Arfa, Jonas should be able to create more than enough chances for any one of Ba, Best or Shola to miss a hatful and still score. Plus, they'll keep possession a lot more and wear the opposition down by making them chase. interesting angle, personally i've got close to zero faith in shola or best and ba (if he starts playing) isnt gonna able to score all of our goals, plus having been wary of how many games ben arfa would manage this season before the new injury, i'm even more dubious now.
  7. How? IMO he hardly touched Taylor and he went down looking for a penalty. I hate to see those given, it's basically a penalty for running behind you opponent. Still, they are usually given so as I said we probably should have had it. There's a reason you're coached to get between the ball and the defender once you're past them, because if they touch you with their feet or grab you with their arms it's a free kick/penalty. I agree there wasnt a lot of contact but the lad put his arms on taylor, penalty all day imo.
  8. Not really. Without a new contract he won't be a committed squad member and will probably carry on tweeting bollocks. I think it's best he moves on and we can try and build a team spirit with a fresh start. he's looked pretty committed in the first two games this season
  9. Tioté Cabaye Marveaux Ben Arfa Jonas More potential than we've fielded for years. brewcie, is that you?
  10. managed to fluke my way into going to this one, delighted. really really hoping our game starts to come together a bit more in an attacking sense. hope the likes of cabaye, colo, taylor and simpson aren't knackered after last night like.

Still £7m though, cant grumble at that, its a fair amount for a left back. once you convert it into pounds it's £200,000 more than we got for enrique. however i'm sure the reports today have been 6.8m? which is £26,000 more.
  12. he just needs time, and a different strike partner. playing alongside Shola or Best you're on a hiding to nothing really, neither of them have the ability/awareness to bring others into play effectively, look at the opportunity Shola had to play Ba in on goal against Arsenal for proof, nearly every other player in our team would've seen that pass. ironically Carrol's great at it, gets his head up straight away and looks for a pass when he receives it. Ben Arfa could help Ba a lot, with Ba looking to play on the shoulder a lot and Ben Arfa's through balls.
  13. WTF has he got to bitch about? they absolutely face bummed us, but for unknown reasons some have been reporting that we actually won the game through being solid in defence, creating more chances than them, having more shots on target, committing less fouls and making the most of our set pieces. oh and that we had the most stone wall of penalties turned away and they should have been down to ten men for 80 mins of the game. understandably he's livid at such outrageously wide of the mark reporting.
  14. nice that it's all positive about him from last night, i only saw the game from 70 mins onwards and he looked ok, if a bit out of place in CM. have to say i'd be tempted to play him left and jonas right. we've been pretty bad going forward this season in terms of creating chances, and i'd like to see jonas and marveaux beating full backs and whipping crosses into Ba and Best (shola would still be on the half way line at this point) it's worth a try, what we've done so far hasnt really worked.

  16. it's nonsense, raylor's scored a couple of free kicks and suddenly he's a good defender

how bad was the williamson injury?

    Erik Pieters

considering we're desperate for someone who can put it in the net i wouldnt bat an eyelid if we signed pieters, cissokho and santon and no-one else, it's nufc
  19. 3 games in and only Raylor and Sameobi have scored this season,my god do we need a striker.
  20. Eh? It's the Carling Cup, we always rest people. He's not really the kind of player we'd 'rest' though eh? Barely first team never mind a key player, just think it's odd he's not even on the bench
  21. Obertan's surely injured if he can't even get on the bench here? Lovenkrands FFS!
