There was a moment early in the game where we won a free kick and their player approached KT with the ball and threw it over his head. It’s as blatant as can be in terms of kicking or throwing the ball away, it should be a yellow card. Ref wasn’t interested. He let the Brighton team know at that point they could get away with niggly shit housing like that all day. It’s quite something when a ref has given you a penalty and a sending off for the other team and it was an all time shit ref performance. Rarely seen anything like it.

You don’t sell players like Bruno unless it’s unavoidable. There are plenty of well documented reasons why, all I’d add is he doesn’t rely on pace so will be a top-tier player well into his 30s.

Broadly in favour of 3s at U7 FWIW. There are so few teams at that level actually playing each other at 5s anyway, hopefully needing fewer players will encourage more teams.

Yeah I’m not sure about that bit although I’m glad my team will play 7 a side for an extra season. We are U9 playing 7s this season, the issue with 5s at this age group is the good players can dribble from one end of the pitch to the other without being touched. That stops at 7s as the pitch is just too big for it.

Good post @Heron and the post match above underlines the difference in Howe’s approach to solving problems. Plenty of other managers would have been excruciating in that interview, mate. He’s clearly annoyed but thoughtful and respectful with it. Be patient with Howe, he has more than earned it.
