Absolutely this. There was a lot in the press about Eddie watching Sandro and 'falling in love', and it's easy now to see why. There was also a lot made of the idea that we needed a DM to progress, all the while Eddie maintained that he would prefer a fluid midfield. He's done it.

It stopped because the war broke out in Ukraine and some supplies (I think steel) were due to come from there. It hasn’t started again and is now a lake with vegetation growing in it. It’ll be a big remedial job before they can even pick up where they left off. In the meantime the same company are investing in the current arena and we’re talking about the possibility of building a huge venue in the city centre. The market they were going after with the new build was huge gigs: Beyoncé, etc.

Fair enough. The timeline on the site is unclear, though. The construction on the new arena has stopped and shows no sign of restarting soon, and the current arena is currently operating with no timeframe to close. The owners have just spent a lot of money refurbishing back of house including the dressing rooms, etc. I’d be surprised if anything happens there unless we’re looking at opening a new stadium in a decade. That said, money talks, so there’s always a way.

Why is there so much talk about the arena site? Is it not actually the site of the arena or something? To be clear, I’m talking about the arena that is currently open and has no definite timeframe to be closed, nevermind demolished.
