  1. McCaffery Gone?!?! Hallefuckinglujah! This is almost as good a piece of news as Sibierski signing for Wigan! Can't stand the tard. They better keep him off SSN too.
  2. Why must you turn this forum into a house of lies?
  3. Yep, I am sure Sven will ask him. exactly crespo, lopez and simeone to follow
  4. Another signing I've never heard of. FM legend isn't he? Yeah. I think Sven has been playing FM2007 in his time off. Bianchi is god on it! he was linked with us within the first few days of SA appointment. gelson is described as 'the swiss kaka', isnt that right? Sven: "Fernandes is the best young talent in Switzerland and I am very happy he is here. I plan to play him in a holding role." Doesn't sound much like Kaka...We best go out and get the real one just to be safe Altho we'll probably be signing Cherno Samba instead if this is true about FM
  5. This just appeared on our official site. Another signing I've never heard of.
  6. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/manchester_city/s/1011/1011270_bianchi_in_bag__now_for_barca_pair.html I'd take em both. But Nery Castillo would be absolutely awesome. Read elsewhere that he's going to Valencia tho. We're being linked with so many names tho. The speculation is a bit mental. And the only player we have signed came right out of nowhere and no-one has ever heard of him. Tending to just let most of it pass me by until something more concrete emerges - Or, like with Castillo, the guy is too good no to get excited PS: £70 bet? Hope you weren't planning on buying owt nice
  7. They signed that french kid they had on loan too. Fulham, £16m. Jeez. I wonder why they're willing to let Sanchez spunk it all on a load of his mates and championship wasters...they never gave Coleman owt...
  8. Can't say I know much about him but its the right sort of signing for me...good age, no keen on signing "proven" players who are coming to the end of their careers.
  9. Please clarify...has he rejected an offer from City too? Not that I've ever heard of the fella but still...be nice to know whats what...
  10. Got the feeling from watching that any interest from City and Newcastle was a thing of the past. He was asked who else came in for him - "Manchester City and then Newcastle" his exact words. I believe he was talking about interest from Pearce and Roeder.
  11. Has anyone ever heard of this fella? My knowledge of him comes entirely from Wiki and YouTube. Still...£8.8m, 24 years old, 18 goals in Serie A last season...bit of a step up from Dickov! Little aprehensive after the last one we brought from that part of the world tho...
  12. He'll be there. Doing something. I don't know what his job title is yet but he's not going to be the assistant manager.
  13. Thankfully it seems like there's nowt to the stories linking David Platt with the #2 job...Swedish bloke called Hans Backe been spotted at the training ground today, looks like its going to be him. Don't know owt about him other than what Wiki says...sacked as Panathanikos manager after 2 games! Jeebus H. Re; Elmander. Apparently Lyon had £7m knocked back but Sven seems to be interested... Smoke and mirrors? Or genuine non-interest? Who knows. But £8m minimum apparently, no sure he's worth that much looking at goalscoring record...?
  14. Its because we're hosting the UEFA Cup final, we've shuffled around the fixtures with you and boro so we end away from home.
  15. Bellamy Josemi Kromkamp Nunez Pellegrino didn't last long but I think he might have only been a short team deal Gonzales for the off too? And theres Fowler and Morientes, 18 months each...
  16. Go to the "My Team" page, press the little down triangle on a defender, then press the little up arrow that appears next to your subs...if its a forward/midfielder the formation will change automatically.
  17. If the chip wrappers are to be believed, David Platt will be his #2. He's about as welcome as the ebola virus. Also quite a strong link to Toulouse/Sweden striker Johan Elmander. Never seen him meself, looks great on youtube obviously, pretty big and pretty quick, but he's no got a great goalscoring record, anyone know owt about him...? Got what it takes to play in the premiership...?

  19. Uh huh. Remember the thread in the aftermath of Pearce's sacking () Ranieri was always my #1 choice. Thaksin's #1 choice too. But we ain't Juve. I remember being against it initially due to the amount of baggage he has. Didn't think he would have much support from the masses due to percieved England failings but I was wrong - Manchester Evening News website poll showed overwhelming support. And the national media being ready to stick the knife in, but there has been so much shite about the takeover I dont really care about that anymore. I'll put that all behind me now. Sven Goran Eriksson, tralalalala
  20. Be nice to think that. But the price for English players is obscene, I'd prefer to do most of our shopping in Italy, Germany, France, etc given how many players we need - Reportedly he wants to bring in 10 players and has £50m to do it with. Never going to happen if we're looking at english players. Don't know how many games he's seen from abroad in recent years tho. He always seemed to be in the crowd in premiership games, hopefully he had his head turned by some hidden gems playing for FC Dinamo Whodjamacallit when they played Liverpool in the Champions League or whatever. He said he's been out of the country for most of the past year, wonder if he's taken many games in... And pigs might fly Related note: We've been trying to get rid of him for over a year. Willing to give him away, for absolutely nowt. But he's still here, been at pre-season training this week. Don't think there's much of a market for right backs at the moment...Don't count your chickens on getting rid of Carr, no matter what Sam wants Sounds like something I might have said. No going to pretend I think Sven is the best manager in the world or that I wanted him in the England job. But in comparison to Pearce, and some of the muppets linked with the job like Souness? I'm fucking delighted. He's got my full support.
  21. He won't get any hooneymoon period whatsoever. They were already trying to stick the knife in in that press conference. But that won't count for owt on the pitch and the fans are largely behind him. Siege mentality. Getting the feeling theres soon going to be a change in the old "league within a league" theory. Used to be Champions League + 10 + shite, could soon be Bajillionaires + Paupers. Be interesting to see how this all pans out.
  22. Welcome to City Sven. Already impressed after one press conference. Points of interest: -Did not use the word "Cute" -Not interested in Rag cast off shite like Smith and Richardson (Good luck 1878! ) -Moving to Sunny Manchester (Unlike Pearce) -Tord Grip is no #2 but some sort of director of football type dealie -The massed media are totally obsessed with the Rags and England -Sven is somewhat skilled at flatbatting loaded questions about the Rags and England -And finally, the title of this thread is totally wrong! The good times are coming back. Now, time to spend fuckloads of moolah on a load of class players.
