  1. SSN Breaking News: Manure close to signing Tevez on 2 year loan deal. Dodgy as owt, WHU blatantly fucked. Manure signing 3rd party players too, point deductions all round I say.
  2. The most dangerous attack...? That would be the Cardiac Arrest Sven had when he realised he would be working with Dickov and Corradi. Serisouly tho, if the little birdies are to be believed ours could be Anelka and Yakubu along with Mpenza and Vassell. No bad. Berbatov/Bent looks great. But not sure which partnership I would pick as the best. Could be any of em, obviously apart from Rooney and Tevez, who are both shite
  3. Meh. Never rated him anyway... TBF, they are £800m in the red, and the ticket prices are going up 30% a season, and the mugs have to buy tickets for all cup games whether they can attend or not. And Anderson and Nani have done fuck all between them in the U21s/Copa. And Darren Fletcher is still there. [/bitter blue]
  4. Thought he got a brace, can remember them playing in that black kit, i can also remember Spurs beating you that season aswell 1-0 i think with Rebrov scoring. They played in Red that day. They beat us again in black a couple of years later tho, Shaun Bartlett 1-0. Remember that Rebrov game too. Injury time f****** winner. We should have won it too, and I don't mean by default just cos Spurs fielded Andy f****** Booth, but we had a perfectly good goal disallowed for non existant foul. Robbed. Full back catalogue of City defeats that left me fuming available on request. There's quite a few from that season. My god we were w***. Definetly deserved to go down, however we definetly didn't need to conceed flukes to prove it. What about when you beat us 1-0 on the afternoon, battered us, Huckerby scored and Dyer missed an open goal. I was going to mention that Dyer miss, as well as Stuart Pearce missing a penalty when the goalie had already told him which way he was going to dive, in my first post. But niether were anywhere near as surreal as the Jensen thing. However Ali Dyer's effort was probably the worst miss I can remember, absolutely wide open goal, under absolutely no pressure....But it wasn't so much crazy as it was hilarious

  6. Just looked it up in the deepest darkest corners of the BBC site. Johansson 2, Stuart 1(pen), Jensen; Huckerby 1(pen).
  7. Don't remember ever seeing a streaker, let alone one covered in their own shite. Don't remember owt wierd like that really. Just funny stuff that happened on the pitch. Hands down the most bizzare moment I've ever seen - City 1, Charlton 4, about 2001, Richard Dunne clears the ball from inside our half, but it hits Claus Jensen, and flies 40 yards back towards our goal, over Weaver's head, and in. Absolutely fucking surreal. I've not seen a replay of it in years but I can remember the feeling I had watching like it was yesterday. Just...something like that happening to us in the middle of a relegation battle, it was so unlikely, it was like we were supposed to go down and their was nowt we could do to stop it. Never mind Maradona's left hand, felt like God had come down from the great big Kippax in the sky, tackled Dunne, and whacked it in the top corner himself. Don't think I've ever felt so low watching a game.
  8. Lescott? How much did Everton pay for him? £4m? Offer £7m, although for that i think you'd get Luisao, a few more and were talking Naldo. Lescott, Yobo, Campbell (cheaper) are really the only EPL options available right now, and the 1st two will take some cash to prize out of Everton. Campbell should be snapped up regardless of whoever else we buy, his experience alone would bring Taylor on to the next level. Campbell wants to go back to Tottenham. Had his heart set on a move since he heard their new strikeforce is Bent and Keane.
  9. Joey Barton is not a defensive midfielder, he is a poor mans Gerrard. FACT.
  10. I think he's a good player...when he's on. But anyone who captains their side, and plays every minute of every game when fit, but plays at 80% cos he "didn't feel wanted", even after having bids for him knocked back, is blatantly a bit of a spacker. I'd back Martin O'Neill to deal with him tho, as a man manager he is a cut above the assorted wasters theyve had at WHU. And I would have had him here, in fact I'd assumed the hold up was because Sven had given him a ring. Ah well.
  11. Na I won't. This has obviously been done to death on the various blue parts of the interweb, no going to try and have the same argument again, I'd be more interested in just sitting and watching other people debate it, see what outsiders think. Carry on please. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?action=dlattach;attach=3883;type=avatar
  12. Mascherano after 6 or so good games for Liverpool? Lets hope he's better at playing against Spanish teams than he is Italian then. howay man, that lad is one of the finest defensive midfielders in the game - one of the smartest pieces of business done last season by liverpool in getting him (anyone know the fee?) if not THE finest No fee, he's on an 18 month loan. Might be up for grabs on a permenant basis if the weekends chip wrappers were owt to go by, the People linked him with a £16m move to City. Wouldn't say no.

I'd be pleased if I were you. It smacks of...you know...having standards. More than I could say for some. http://picsrv.mcfc.co.uk/?fif=/mcfc/img_502_9224.jpg&obj=iip,1.0&wid=110&hei=130&rgn=0,0,0,0&cvt=jpeg Whats worse, I know of someone who bought it.
  14. Oh aye, can't believe I forgot him, I thought he was a great player. Wasn't Branco italian tho?
  15. I remember him scoring against Real last season, remember vividly that the commentators were banging on about how he'd never done it before. I don't know about his record vs Barca. Agree about them needing another big player. Remember arguing with Rafa the Liverpool fan on here a while back about how I thought Benitez got it wrong by going for multiple middle of the road signings like Bellamy and Pennant instead of one top drawer player. I don't think he's the one tho. He may be an exotic foriegn name but he's no a great player. I wonder if they tried for Villa or Etoo.
  16. Top of me head, Brazillians in the premiership: Gilberto Baptista Silvinho Kleberson Juninho Doriva Rochemback Jardel Roque Jr
  17. Jeebus H. Seen Torres a few times. I've never been wowed, and his goalscoring record is nowt special - Is Fernando Torres really £10m better than Darren Bent? Personally, I don't think so, and as silly as the Tottenham offer is, I think they've got better value for money this week. But I suppose it puts the penny pinching rumours about the new owners to bed.
  18. Last World Cup winning Brazillian defender to come to the premiership from European Cup winning team: Roque Junior
  19. Per Kroldrup is a good shout if what I read about him was true...that Moyes paid £5m for him, but only when he got him over did he realise he couldn't head the ball...it takes a very special level of tard to make that sort of blunder. At least most of the other ones had some right to expect that the players would have something to offer, or in the case of Ali Dyer, didn't cost owt.
  20. Chance of seeing Torres in a City shirt = 0% Unless we swap shirts after playing Liverpool next season that is... Don't believe these particular reports for a second but if they're true, we're never gonna get anyone by aiming as high as Torres. Still think theres going to be a trophy signing tho.
  21. O/T but on the subject of Torres - something a bajillion times more nonsensical than Newcastle bidding for Deco just appeared in the Times: "There were reports in Spain last night that Manchester City – flushed with cash after the takeover by Thaksin Shinawatra – had outbid Liverpool for Torres." (No I didn't just make that up)
  22. These games are as bent as Steve Bruce's nose. Blatantly weren't even trying there, especially the goalie Little birdie tells me referees are staying in the same hotel as a couple of the teams too. Have a feeling Mexico and Chile might be getting a few favourable whistles.
  23. Personally I'm of the opinion that Gudjohnsen is an overrated player...thought he was lucky to ride on the coat tails of the Abramovich revolution after being a good player for them previously who managed to stick around. Still don't know why Barca signed him, he was never in a million years good enough to play for them. However, rather than just slag him off and get me head bitten off I've been thinking about it... Gudjohnsen played easily the best football of his career alongside Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. They had an awesome partnership back in the day, got 50 goals between them this one time if memory serves. And Newcastle currently have a player who reminds me a little of Hasselbaink. I wonder if Allardyce has any plans to try and emulate that partnership with Martins. Of course that doesn't really fit in this 433 that most seem to be assuming he's going to go with but then again...I don't think Gudjohnsen does either.
