You know what I think the theme tune should be? Nothing. Not only is it shite on all imaginable levels - not just the lamentable standard of the music, but more importantly the very idea of a "theme" - its also completely pointless considering the TV are always on a break when they play it.

Decent defense, but I can't see where they'll get any goals from next year. They're shite away as well. I think they overperformed last season. I think there defence is a whole lot better than "Decent". That James/Distin/Campbell core is one of the very best in the league I reckon. Miles better than anyone else outside the top 4. Of course its a team game but I can really see them doing well from such a strong backline...I think they are going to win a lot of games 1-0. A LOT. And they've already got some good players in midfield like Taylor, Mendes, Muntari...And if they manage to get a quality forward in...? Top 6. blueyes.gif

I'm suprised that so many people have got Pompey down to finish absolutely nowhere.

Schuster? Eriksson...? They're absolutely mental btw.

Wanna bet? I'll bet you 100000000000000000000000 bajillion gajillion quids in cash money that Bayern don't win the Champions League this season PS: I never thought Klose was that good. Only ever saw him in World Cups, never looked owt special to me. Remember him scoring loads against the Saudis in japorea...did f all else, nearly got the golden boot

I think there is going to be a signing like that. I'd imagine it was someone with a big name (Owen?) or someone the City fans rate highly (SWP) rather than someone who would just cost a silly amount of money. Ya I heard that. But even if that is true, and we made a bid for Owen, I dont imagine it would be for that much more than the clause amount. Still don't think he would come anyway, but I'd have him here.

Ya Im happy with it. We've had all sorts of names linked with the job - quality operators like Sven, Ranieri, Ramos, no hopers like Warnock, Jewell and Coleman, complete muppets like Souness, and odious rag twats like Hughes and Strachan...Id have been happy with anyone from the first category. He's going to appoint the Sweden #2 (Roland Andersson I think his name is) to be his assistant instead of Grip tho...no sure if Grip will have a role as scout or something. Doubt it. Seriously tho, I dont know whats going to happen with the team. I think we need a new front 6, what I posted there is just what I would do. The tabloids have been playing pin the tail on the transfer rumour with us too...Owen, Harewood, Benayoun, NRC, SWP, Ljungberg, Anelka all in the news in recent days...No idea whats going to happen. But I think I'd borrow Mr Mojo's rusty spoons if we sign Harewood

The last manager we had spent every minute of every match jumping up and down like a rabid chimp. We got 1 point from losing positions last season. "Passion" is overrated.

The reporter claims there will be no announcement until he owns 75% of the shares, he owns 66% or so, and the offer documents are being sent out to the minor shareholders today Still, good to have a bit of closure. A manager "in principle" is better than no manager at all! Hypothetically speaking, would you lot have been happy with Sven being appointed the Newcastle manager, if for whatever reason the job hadn't had gone to Allardyce? Personally, my first choice for the City boss was Ranieri (I dont think I ever hid that) - I think Sven would have been my 4th choice or so - but I'm extremely comfortable with this appointment. Can't look down me nose at a manager of this calibre.

The words "Citeh" and "top 4" don't belong in the same sentence. Unless the sentence also includes the words "nowhere near" or "2010".

I'm no looking down my nose at Anelka - Probably the best player I've ever seen in a City shirt. There are a number of players who have left recently who I would have back in a shot - Distin, SWP - Anelka, I'm no sure. Theres a lot of water under the bridge there.

The article continues but I chose to cut it off there because it links us with Anelka ( ) and Harewood ( ) But wait! I don't think we should rush into this. After all... Bwahahaha!!

Andy Cole. But he's 35 and is 72 behind Shearer. Owen is next amongst active players - he isn't even halfway to Shearer's 260. Don't think that record will ever be broken, certainly not for ages. I don't think anyone will be able to keep pace with Shearer's efforts in the first half of his career. Too much chess nowadays, don't think anyone is going to get close to 30 in a season for a good long while. If someone does break it, I dont think it will be a foreign player as I doubt they'll spend enough time in this country to do it. Of current players I think the most likely is Darren Bent...and well, thats not very likely at all is it Henry does have the record for most premiership goals for one club tho

How much though I wonder? How long is a piece of string? Could be he only brought enough here to do this deal, and after this £50m has gone theres nowt left but what he can get for splitting the TV deal and making a killing out of assorted far eastern mugs. Or he could have brought it in by the wheelbarrow - I heard it mentioned once that he can match the £1.3bn thats frozen with moneys that aint, tho I doubt thats true. I would imagine he has quite a bit safe, and the attempts to get money out of Thailand that activated all this freezing was just trying to get the rest. Anyways, he seemed quite confident that he'll get his frozen moneys back once the Junta have gone forth and multiplied and there is a proper government again, after all the money *is* his, he was a bajillionaire before he entered politics. No going to kid myself that this guy is a misunderstood saint - But the issue are more complicated than what assorted ex-pats are saying there. I don't know much about Thai politics but one of the admins on a City site I use is married to a Thai woman and knows plenty. He absolutely mauls anyone who bites into Thaksin with stuff like whats in the mailbox there, mainly because he thinks Thaksin was a man of the people and his policies were concentrated away from the Bangkok middle classes (Which most ex-pats belong to) and theyve been taken in by Propoganda(HERE is a little about how the Junta are controlling pro-Thaksin thought). I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between but I take solace in the fact its no cut and dried that he's Idi Amin Jr.
