Granted, I was only like 9 years old when he signed but his time with us feels like a fever dream to me, especially with him heading straight back to Everton. Loved him as a kid and thought the pairing with Shearer was cracking, even though I couldn't point you to any evidence.

I don't think I could handle Jorginho purely for how much of an insufferable prick he seems to be on the pitch. I'm confident in saying his 90 minute whinging act wouldn't become one of those 'but he's our insufferable prick ' moments for me.

The only reason there's anything remotely close to a 'rivalry' is because they felt compelled to create an entire banner celebrating our relegation. I personally couldn't give a shit about them; a well run Villa would be good for the league but I'll have a snigger while they falter. And I can see why fans of any club would take delight in the tables being turned.

I'm sure I hated him when he first moved, but haven't beared any ill will toward him for a long time. He saw the writing on the wall. Presumably under the assumption that you'll have to run through one of them at some point, so why not get it out of the way when their guard may be more down than if they're zoned in in a final? I'm not fussed either way. I also believe we'll have to run through them at some point so if we get Man City/Liverpool next I at least have faith with Howe. But I won't argue at all with Charlton. You can only best what's in front of you; we've still gotten past two PL teams, however arduous it was, and a semi final is a semi final.
