  1. Keep meaning to pick up his autobiography. Anyone read it?
  2. Think max loan of a year is fair, three months is barely long enough for a player to get in the swing of thing always imo, barely feels worth it for any party. I don't like the thought of extra rules for younger players either, my biggest gripe against the loan system is its facilitation of stockpiling youth as you say. So maybe max 8 loans out in a season, including youth and senior players. No inter-league loans.
  3. I wanted Juve through for Buffon and nothing else, so I'm gutted about the whole sequence. But I don't know how people can argue it wasn't deserved. Penalty, no matter whether it's soft or not, it's a penalty. And Buffon can't react like that. Shit, but the occasion doesn't change it.
  4. Michael Oliver, terrible? Not a chance, he's easily one of the best around. Hom being one of the best doesn’t mean he can’t been terrible. Refereeing standards these days is a joke. Homophobic slurs are uncalled for, however you feel about his refereeing ability.
  5. Owen laughing away at his own analysis while Lineker tries to move on. Prick.
  6. Gutted for those Juve fans. Imagine that level of euphoria being sucked out of you so swiftly.
  7. You can't get into a refs face like that, bumping into him as well. Ref has zero choice but to give a red. As much as i hated seeing it given as well. Seemed an overreaction from Oliver first off but those replays, can't argue with it as sad as it is.
  8. Chants of "there's only one greedy bastard" by a pocket of ours at Anfield last month. Bizarre. wat? That's mental. I could kind of understand it yesterday; he didn't deserve booing but I think some Man City fans were just trying easy ways to get an intimidating atmosphere going. But why any Newcastle fan would want to boo Milner is beyond me.
  9. Aye. There's this picture of young Steven Gerrard in an Everton kit too. Surprised to discover Terry Mac is an Everton fan, too. And related to Carragher.
  10. Did I imagine it or did he still get it wrong when correcting himself?
  11. Instinct wants to say he's being a little bitch but then we do say refs should be more diligent with players and staff being aggressive toward them.
  12. Wouldn't like to piss off Guardiola btw. Looks like he could turn in to a right mentalist if he wanted to.
  13. I think they genuinely don't understand the rule as they just said it so matter of factly during her replays 'yeah he's offside; it comes off Milner'.
  14. Where'd Jack go? Miss him. Just checked out his last posts and it's the IP at a festival GIF, naturally.
  15. Around 26,000 posts ago. Riposte. Not really. The joke's on me if my near ten years of regular posting is less memorable than the decade old thread that started it.
  16. I wouldn’t. I mean I expect things to happen quickly, but I suspect running a bath will be a lot quicker than the completion of the takeover. You can certainly go out and buy some fresh Dove and Tresemme though. I'd expect the promise of full reimbursement for said products if this falls through first, Spirit. When did you stop lurking? Around 26,000 posts ago.

  18. Exactly! Ah, I give up. Point is, Dummett's action interferes with what Mahrez intended to do. Isn't there a whole, "there doesn't have to be contact, but the intent was there?" thing? Dummett dived in, doesn't get the ball and it affects Mahrez's actions. Intent for what? If intent to hurt an opponent yeah. But this reads to me like you're saying players should get punished for trying to make a tackle and not catching his opponent, which just seems like insanity to me. You might as well just outlaw tackles if a player who misses the ball and man can be done because he's 'putting his opponent off' which is what the 'affecting' reads to me like.
  19. Wait. Penalties are now given for 'affecting' a player? Come on. Is this what football has become?
  20. That's how they get ya'. Read that fine print, man.
  21. Do people think there'd be a demand for searchable records of as many betting websites as possible's registered users? Would it even be feasible? As someone who's loved signing up to any new customer offer he sees for over a decade now, and also had a period of self-exclusion from quite a few sites some years ago, I keep wishing there was a third party that all betting websites could provide name, address, DOB of registered users and then said users can search to see what accounts they have and where. I've probably signed up to tens of betting companies that I don't even remember existed.
