And on a side note, Glen Johnson's hair is fucking horrendous!
-
I can't work out if Fletcher was tempted to follow the guy at the end or was just pussying out.
-
You know it had to happen.
-
What's happened to Man U? Getting riled up for no reason here.
-
How can you give a free kick on something you didn't see?
-
Fucking hell Nani's a diving little prick. And players on both team in general are doing my nut in having a go at the ref. Just man up and play the fucking game.
-
Didn't a player or even maybe Hodgson say how they matched up to Man U would determine the level the team is going to be at this season? They're fucked You can't fault what Hodgson's done as a manager elsewhere but I've felt his signings at the bindippers overall have been so uninspiring, this team just seems so average.

Nice.

Is it just me or is a lot of Man U's play breaking down when it gets to Rooney?
-
Don't know if it's been said already but.. Paul Merson you fucking prick!! How many times did he want to shout over a issed chance?? Especially that Fellaini chance at the end, screaming like it was a goal, then we've got to go through the whole description of the move before he tells us he sent it over the bar. Cunt.

As extreme as S.S.R may be going here, I can kind of see the point he's trying to make. On the flipside, you can't mention christmas as an exception, some countries don't celebrate christmas. If a prominent English player were over in a country such as that (not that they would anytime soon I reckon!) and wasn't allowed time off for Christmas because it's not one of their holidays, wouldn't you be pissed off?

He's actually upset about not being offered the job? The numbnuts was still deciding whether to throw his hat into the ring days before Houllier announced.
-
Stupid idea. It's like saying ex-pros make better managers. It's a completely different side to the game.

I've been lurking on these boards for years now, and I'm still not used to seeing Dave hold such a grudge! I only come in this thread to see his moaning everytime it's been bumped
-
I've had enough about hearing about 5 year plans, especially as I'm playing too much Fifa and that fucking shit commentary has Andy Gray every few games going on about '5 year plans'. Cunt

No way. He's got nothing to suggest he'd be a good central midfielder for me, goes down too easily, would get bossed around as I think I saw someone else say. As much as we'd like to think Skirge's formation would be good, one of the best things about Jonas is his link up play with Jose, first we'd lose that, second, it's been proven time and time again that he's utter garbage at wing back. He's certainly got his limitations as a winger, but it's his strongest position, and who the hell is going to replace him out there? I thought Ben Arfa was brought in to play down the centre, probably wouldn't be happy if he was shunted out on the wing to accomodate a lesser player in the blind hope that said player might be a bit better in the centre than on the wing.

Are they really that bad though? IMO they do a pretty good job with such a fast moving game. It would be interesting to investigate the number of mistakes that people would find acceptable versus the amount that actually happen. I'm a massive supporter of referees TBH, I don't think it's possible to improve them that much. All I would do is make it a proper career for younger people, so that it's an alternative to playing for people of a similar age. I would like to see the average age of Premiership refs come down to 25-30. Respect for referees would have to be brought up drastically first. Could you imagine the older payers taking decisions from a 25 year old? They'd be in his face attempting to intimidate him the whole game. Moreso than now. And managers for that matter.

I think, from the way High Five's talking, he means it's not the formation as such that's the problem. It's the way he's instructing the players to play in that formation. 4-5-1 was great against Villa, but they weren't just belting it up to Carroll all game. This time, in the same formation, they were a shambles. It's not the formation itself that's the problem, but the way they're playing in that formation.

That is cringeworthy to say that we can't criticize the guy. He's the worst winger I've seen play for Newcastle. I think stats will also back this up in terms of assists and goals as well. Worst winger you've seen play for Newcastle? And I'm cringeworthy?
-
I don't get how we can criticise this guy, unbelievable. So, he's got no competition which is making him lazy. Name some wingers we could've got at a fair price that would have challenged him, that would've come to a relegation battling team just up from the Championship?... He's the best we're going to get in our position right now, no, he may not be a player that could help us progress to the Euro spots (if we get to that position to challenge for them in the next few years), but he's a good enough player for the position this club's in right now. Ridiculous to start slating these sorts of players.
-
You shouldn't even need to get that extreme though. Quite simple is Hughton shouldn't be playing him while better options are their. While this happens Hughton will be criticised and rightly so IMO. That debate's been had elsewhere though. We should've changed the team that just hammered Aston Villa and gained a creditable draw against Wolves? That would've sent an even worse message out to the team, that no matter what they do, they're not going to win him over and challenge Ben Arfa for his place, even though he's proven nothing so far in a black and white shirt.

Let's not forget, he's one to learn from his mistakes. We've fucked up big time today, no denying. But he's going to make mistakes, it's one of the unfortunate circumstances of hiring someone who, let's be fair, is still cutting his teeth in the management game. We have to just pray he realises his mistakes, like he has in the past. This is the biggest capitulation on this forum in all the time Hughton's been manager as far as I can remember, we're not going to fail on the back of this one game. Let's just hope he can see his faults and change as he has before. We had doubts when we lost to them early last season remember, we came back to storm the Championship. Faith people! Faith!

I don't care how well we may have done or how many chances we've seen unbelievably saved in the second half, we shouldn't have allowed them to outclass us the first half. Sounds like they were too complacent, let's hope that doesn't become a trend this season.
