I'll be fuming if we let Vlasic go on loan. I was assuming he'd get plenty of game time under Silva.
-
Would be a disaster given how impatient our fans are. He's used to getting dogs abuse from our fans, so will be a good fit
-
I'd have taken him here and played him behind Slimani. He looks quality, what is allardyce thinking 99% of Everton fans would have him regularly starting games for us. Allardyce and his mate Steve Walsh are total clowns. If they're not both out the door in the summer, we can write next season off.
-
According to Allardyce yesterday, we've already rejected a loan bid for Sandro because not enough money was offered. Guessing that was either Mike Ashley or a small Spanish club.
-
He was only good in flashes for Everton. Very inconsistent and seemed to have poor fitness, always looked knackered after about 20/30 mins of a game in both spells here. He's a good impact sub but that's about it.
-
We're absolutely desperate for a left back and two of our better players this season have been Lookman and Vlasic in their occasional appearances. So of course we're signing another attacking midfielder the wrong side of 27, leaving the two young lads in the stands and not even getting linked with any left backs. Our transfers are a joke.

Judging by how crap Sandro is (after scoring 1 in 2 for Malaga) I wouldn't touch Moreno with a barge pole.

Mirallas was really good for us under Moyes and early doors under Martinez. IIRC Dortmund and Atletico were after him at one point but when he eventually signed a new deal it was like he'd done us a huge favour by staying in his mind. That penalty incident Gadgie mentioned sums his attitude up since around then. He's been a bit part player for the last couple of years and there was generally a feeling from the fans that he deserved to be playing more and wasn't getting a fair crack of the whip from managers. However, he's fallen out with Martinez, Koeman AND Unsworth in the last few years so, by this point, the fans have realised it's Mirallas that's the problem. Vast majority just want him flogged asap now.
-
He's better than Bakayoko and Fabregas is knocking on. Barkley is a lot better than he gets credit for. I'm sure the media narrative about him will change overnight once he pulls on a Chelsea shirt.

I don't think people on the outside appreciate what a total mess we're in. We can't defend and can't score goals. Most games we struggle to create a single clear chance. The squad is completely unbalanced with a dearth of wingers and strikers and an abundance of defensive midfielders and shit No. 10's who are slower than your nan. All of our defenders are either kids or over the hill. We'd be bottom with about 2 points if it wasn't for Pickford. Someone for the longer term like Silva or Dyche would be preferable but I'd have no qualms with Allardyce coming in and playing his dinosaur percentage football to grind out a few 1-0's until January, when we can make some much needed signings. If they leave Unsworth in charge and we drift onto January playing like we are now, we'll already be down.

It was sold out at a reduced capacity of about 32k. The Family Enclosure and a block of the Main Stand were shut because they're putting new disabled facilities in. Just so happens that they're the most visible sections on the TV cameras, so it looked empty. We were awful last night until Sandro came on and injected a bit of pace and movement. I really don't see how adding another slow central player in Sigurdsson is going to help the team at all. Sorely lacking pace, width and a target man upfront. You have the pace and width in Bolasie and others, though, don't you? I think we all knew the lack of a target man was going to be a problem. I'm not sure when Bolasie will be back from injury or whether he'll still have that pace when he comes back. Aside from that, there's Mirallas who flatters to deceive, Lennon who isn't good enough and Lookman, who seems like a great prospect but isn't getting a fair chance from Koeman. Slim pickings.

Can't believe we've blown £6m on a kid who cuts his own hair and has got a bum fluff beard.

I think they are potentially 4 terrible signings personally. Zabaleta's legs have gone and Hart was the worst keeper in Italy last season. Awful signings on massive wages. Arnautovic is class on his day but looks like he can't be arsed half the time. Could be a good signing if they get his head right. Decent chance it won't work out though. Never been a big Hernandez fan but they've got him for a good price in the current market.

Nah McCarthy is actually a very good midfielder defensively. He tends to hide when his team is in possession though, never seems to want a pass, even though he is decent technically so perhaps that could be worked on. Clucas from what I saw wasn't great defensively but was always making himself an option for a pass off the ball Eamonn Dunphy in the Irish media called him a waste of space and all but suggested he'd conspired to get his manager (Martinez) sacked. Even if there's a snippet of truth in that I'd stay well clear Eamonn Dunphy makes a living from talking and writing s*** I absolutely love him but he really doesn't have a clue. Martinez loved McCarthy This. Martinez's Everton with McCarthy in it were excellent by and large. It was only when he was out injured for a while that the wheels come off. Everton fans I speak to say the reason the wheels fell off was because Martinez was useless and couldn't organise a defence for love or money. McCarthy is a good player though. They weren't saying that when McCarthy was in the team and they were fighting for top four. It was when he got injured in his second season and they were defensively more open that the criticism was levelled at Martinez. Fairly so to some level but I seem to recall he lost Baines and Jagielka to various medium term injuries whilst Mori's was adjusting to life in the league also which compounded his demise there. This is total rubbish tbh mate. Martinez is a terrible manager, ridiculously stubborn and arrogant in sticking with the same rigid tactics that do not work. Completely incapable of coaching a defence or organising a team. He didn't even practice attacking or defending set pieces in training, which was blatantly obvious on the pitch. His first season was a success because he inherited Moyes' defence which was rock solid and had been one of the best in the league for donkeys years. Within 12 months he had completely ruined it and we were a farce at the back. His downfall was nothing to do with McCarthy or injuries. As for McCarthy, he's not much of a passer and doesn't get forward enough when the game opens up for him but he can be excellent at breaking up play and has a good engine. He was really good for us in his first season. Second and third seasons he was rubbish whenever he played between injuries. Last season, he struggled with injuries again but was good when he played. Seemed to regain his form under Koeman. He'd be good to keep as a back-up/rotation player but is probably too valuable not to cash in on and he earns about 50k a week. Something Newcastle fans will have to get used to if you sign McCarthy is the whole Irish circus. O'Neill and Keane have rushed him back from injury two or three times now, causing him to break down again. When Koeman complains about this, they then slag Everton off in the media. The good thing about selling him would be never having to read another article about the latest nonsense from that pair of pricks. When you say rubbish you mean non of this happened? Everton fans happy with Martinez 1st season not the 2nd. Played with attacking flair to achieve 5th. McCarthy along with that back four was vital to Martinez's team that first season and they were missed when injured. I never said it was Martinez's defence. I never said he could organise one or adapt without key players missing hence stating the criticism of him was justified at times. I never said McCarthy was a great forward passer. You agreed he was good first season and not the same since injury. Starting to think you meant to reply to someone else First two paragraphs replying to you. Second two just talking generally about McCarthy, maybe would have been better in a separate post tbf. Defending Martinez's abilities and making McCarthy's form out to be instrumental in his downfall is what I was calling rubbish. Because it is. Obviously fans were happy when we finished 5th We thought Martinez was a good manager because of that. Within 6 months it was apparent that he wasn't and had got lucky inheriting a great defence. He tweaked Moyes' team to make us a bit more attacking in the first season and it worked well (went from 6th to 5th). Following seasons we had the worst joke of a defence in the league, despite having plenty of good players. We didn't even play decent football going forward in those seasons either. It was boring tippy tappy sideways stuff that went nowhere for the most part. There were no mitigating circumstances for Martinez's failure. It was purely down to his arrogant delusions that he was another Guardiola and that defending doesn't matter.

Apparently they've rejected £40m. I hope we walk away from this deal. Already far too much for a player whose main strength is set pieces.
-
Anyone ever seen this lad play? His record looks awful considering the price tag. I don't think we should go near Rooney with a bargepole either. Looks like a foregone conclusion though sadly. You should have went all out for Sigurdson, and whats happening with Barkley? Latest rumours are that Barkley is staying. He was back in training yesterday. I hope he does stay personally, he was excellent at times last season and gets far too much stick. Sigurdsson's work rate and set pieces are better than Barkley's but Ross is a much better footballer and younger. I'm not sure set pieces are worth spending £40m on. Sigurdsson gets a few more goals a season too, but we've already signed Klaasen for that job.

Be surprised if Jagielka went anywhere. He looked finished early in the season and was out of the side for a long time. Since getting back in, he's been our best defender. Ashley Williams has been a big disappointment and Funes Mori is shite. Holgate is good, but still a bit young. We should be signing a couple of centre backs in the summer, but I think Jagielka will stay put and see out the last year of his contract as the main back up.

Rancid, s***, tryhard Tory wool c***. How've you picked up on the wool insult?

McCarthy cost £13m 3.5years ago before the transfer market massively inflated. Any competent Premier League player is going to cost a minimum of £15m now. Just look at the daft money Palace are spending on mediocre players. McCarthy has actually played very well this season since getting his fitness back too. Previous two seasons he was pretty poor and we'd have probably snapped your hand off for £16m. Especially pre-takeover. I suspect £20m would get it done if McCarthy wants to leave. Otherwise, I think Koeman would be happy to keep him in the midfield rotation regardless of the sums offered. Premier League prices are crazy but the only solution is to buy from elsewhere.

Sandro Pistone isn't doing anything and already knows the area

Gibson is actually a decent player when he's fit. Not mobile but has vision and a good range of passing. He was an important first teamer for us under Moyes and is more highly thought of than Cleverley by the fans. He got frozen out by Martinez and hasn't had a chance from Koeman either, despite getting a new deal in the summer. I hope he gets a move somewhere in January after so long without regular football. Maybe join up with Moyes again or drop down to the Championship.
