Seen nothing concrete - just the same guesswork on here about De Boer leaving Ajax. Pellegrini is supposedly interested and Koeman has been linked. I don't think Rafa will be on the radar tbh. He'd be a good appointment (and I think he'd gladly take the job too) but the board are under massive pressure from the fans, so I can't see them making any sort of controversial move like Rafa would be.

Any need for how massive that Anderlecht badge is?

Ok, I thought you were talking generally That article is just his laughable quotes. They could get a whole other article out of his sly digs
-
You're not looking very hard then. He's spent the last 18 months (since everything turned to shit) lowering expectations and bullshitting the fans with a constant stream of excuses. He's also had several digs at our support this season as an excuse for posting the worst home record since 1878.
-
I'd actually be happy with that in the championship. You do realise he's got a good Everton side playing like relegation fodder? Not sure the Championship is the ideal league for his complete inability to set up a defence or his belief that set pieces aren't important either.
-
I know, he doesn't seem to realise he's had 1 good season (arguably on the back of Moyes' defence) and 2 awful seasons. As for Mark Hughes, at his best he's another Moyes. He was a lot worse than that at City and QPR. I'd hope that Moshiri pulling out of Arsenal and supposedly being ready to invest a ton of cash in Everton means his ambitions are much higher than finishing 8th or 9th with Mark bloody Hughes every year. Worth noting that it's another story written by John Cross with his crayons too.

To be fair, we've had almost 2 years of a side that should be challenging for top 4/top 6 being midtable or bottom half, while the press didn't raise an eyebrow. It's only because fans have started protesting against Martinez that they've picked up their pens. The press were happy to go along with his Mr. Nice Guy image without questioning his horrific results because they don't give a shit about Everton. Compare our coverage to the mass hysteria in the papers over dips in Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool's form.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a blood and thunder Merseyside derby game with injuries and suspensions. The derby is going to be like a training match for Liverpool. Our players have clearly given up on Martinez and the atmosphere around the whole club is the worst I've ever known it in 20-odd years of going the match. Wouldn't even surprise me if Martinez rested players in the derby. He knows winning the cup is the only way he can cling onto his job.

Been denied thankfully! It was a strange one because Ian Darke cited "persistent Merseyside rumours" but there was never any talk of it here until his tweet

No. Is Cabaye not just always like that? His antics have been ridiculous pretty much every time we've played against him. It wasn't just Coleman last night, he had a few spats with McCarthy and Barry as well. Put an awful, shithouse tackle in on Baines. Tried to pick a fight after the final whistle. Won't be a popular opinion here but I can't stand him, one of the biggest cunts in the league.
-
You could have made that statement at this point last season, but not this season. His hold-up and link play, which were his main short comings previously, has come on leaps and bounds over the last year. Scoring pretty much 1 in 2 as well. He's already made Mourinho look daft. I'm just hoping when he goes in the summer it's to Madrid or PSG and not someone in England.

Think Rodgers is being overrated a lot here. He was awful at Reading and largely awful at Liverpool. His achievements have been 2 seasons arguably piggybacking others' success at Swansea and 1 season at Liverpool when he had Suarez (who he never bought) and Sturridge (who he tried to stop the club signing) absolutely on fire. I don't see Mike Ashley going anywhere near Benitez who has fallen out with the chairman/board/DoF at half of his clubs. I don't like Moyes, but think he'd keep you up no danger and make you a solid top half outfit. He'd probably want more control than in the current set-up though.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if we won 3-0 or lost 0-3. We're a quality side on paper but Martinez is a clown and the defence is a shambles. We do have a better record when Howard is out though, so hopefully that swings it.

http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2016/01/07/blues-sign-tarashaj We've signed a Swiss kid and loaned him back for national service. U wot m8.

Barry's been consistently one of our best players this season, so not sure where you're coming from there tbh mate. He never played much better last night than he has been doing week in, week out. He looked shot for the first half of last season but turned it around during the second half of the season and has pushed on from there. It's McCarthy who should be worried about losing his place to Besic. He's been crap all season.

hang on, why would you sack van gaal? Because he's done a s*** job? Just a hunch. annihilated us at Old Trafford though Beat us comfortably at Goodison as well. Martinez and McClaren being poor doesn't make Van Gaal any better though. The football United play is awful and the squad is crap considering how much he's spent. Joey was taking the p*ss out of something Froggy said, as they in no way annihilated us. I just took it as read that they had tbh The McClaren factor.
-
We can say that when comparing our first XI (minus Howard) against most teams in the league tbf but it doesn't mean we'll get a result. Martinez is completely incapable of organising the defence to have any sort of shape, solidity or ability to defend set pieces. That's why our only 2 league wins in 11 are against Sunderland & Villa.

£10m for Naismith? Good luck with that. Norwich already had an £8m bid rejected in the summer. Prices don't go down in January. Even if we don't get the £10m asking price, I think we'd certainly be offered £8m again. The Newcastle interest doesn't seem to ring true though. Wrong age. Norwich, Villa and Sunderland rumours sound more plausible.
-
Bournemouth fans getting cocky on Twitter saying Austin is going there and they are now a bigger club than us. Right. I loathe the fans of newly promoted clubs. They're always like this, full of themselves now they're in the top flight. Norwich fans are awful for this. Every time they get promoted. Which is a sentence which really says it all about them. Palace fans are bad as well. I had a look at their forums when we were linked to Scott Dann and the consensus was that none of their players would dream of signing for Everton since they are now a bigger club than us off the back of finishing higher in the league. For the first time in decades. By 1 point.

Funes Mori sounds like he could be a bit of a dodgy defender but at least he's fairly well known and just breaking into the Argentina squad. The other lad is actually from the Uruguayan River Plate, not the Argie one, and nobody has ever heard of him by the age of 22.
-
I don't believe that story at all. So many 'Mirallas for knock down fee' rumours by lazy journos based on him having a year left on his contract. He's actually got 2yrs left because the club have an extension option that he doesn't have to consent to. Think we'd be wanting more like £15m for a winger who scored double figures in limited starts last season. Also couldn't see us letting him go to a competitor when there will be plenty of takers abroad. He's inconsistent but can be a match winner single handedly when he's on form.
-
Find it hard to believe we're even in for him. The day Charnley travels over to negotiate a deal, our name is suddenly in the frame after never being linked before? Smacks of being leaked by the player or PSV for leverage in talks with Newcastle.
-
Apart from the bench I don't see where Cleverley fits at Everton, but we're giving him £50k a week for 5 years.
