Everton spent all summer trying to sign Witsel, so it's already happening.

Cleverley is pretty rubbish tbh. He seems a decent lad and works hard on the pitch but he hasn't got much to offer aside from that. Quite slow, passing is ok but he's not that creative and doesn't score many. He'd probably be ok in the Championship but I don't think he's someone who can come in and storm you to a comfortable title win or anything. I'd personally be hoping there's an obligation to buy in any loan deal so that we're not stuck with him again in the summer.

Always used to like Nigel Martyn. Yeah good keeper at both Palace and Leeds. Steve Ogrizovic should probably have been capped in the late 80s too. Martyn was still brilliant when he played for Everton from 2003 - 2006 before he retired. Easily the best keeper we've had since Southall.

Emre, Luque, Boumsong and Amdy Faye deals among 17 'suspicious' transfers highlighted by the Lord Stevens report in 2007. Which the FA and then FIFA did the sum total of f*** all about No surprises on the managers or clubs involved in the rest of the suspicious deals either. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/the-17-suspicious-premier-league-transfers-that-fifa-and-the-fa-failed-to-investigate-a7335916.html

Was happy we never ended up signing Sissoko, especially for £30m but could have done without the brutal public rejection
-
From the little I saw of him at Everton he's rubbish tbh. Got some pace and skills but seemed brainless and lightweight.

Bill Kenwright was trolling Rafa all along

Looks like a Leeds away kit from the 90's

Everton fans pretty non-plussed over this Kone rumour. Sunderland fans wanting to lynch Ellis Short and sack Moyes. RTG in meltdown

No, just basing it on what Everton fans are saying, and the majority seem to suggest he isn't a LB. He was a centre back for MK Dons but hasn't played many minutes there for us. Although he's comfortable on the ball, he's definitely a defender first and foremost. He was one of our better players for the first half of last season at left back while Baines was injured. Then got dropped like a stone for no apparent reason (which Martinez was fond of doing to players). From our perspective, I don't understand this move at all tbh. Our only cover at left back now is Oviedo, who not only isn't as good as Galloway imo but has legs made of papier mache. Don't you still have Garbutt for cover? He wasn't given a squad number by Koeman. Apparently he was crap during his loan at Fulham last season too. Before he signed a new deal 12 months ago, he looked really promising and Liverpool were sniffing round him on a free. Now he looks to be on the scrap heap

I'd be suprised and disappointed if we even let Galloway go on loan, nevermind sell him. I don't see any point in sending him to the Championship either, he's already proven himself good enough to start in the Premier League. Oviedo should be getting moved on instead.

Was previously fuming about West Ham getting a new ground off the taxpayer (and Gold & Sullivan lining their pockets when they sell the club). Now coming around to the idea that their wanker fans being stuck in a shit ground they'll hate for years to come is taxpayers money well spent.

Didn't they spend something like 14-16m on him? £13.5m. He's the worst player I've ever seen in the flesh. Within a few minutes of his debut you could see he had no idea how to kick a ball, what runs to make or what positions to take up on the pitch. He plays like the kid who was last pick in PE won a raffle for a run out at Goodison. How on earth Martinez and Kevin Reeves (his idiot chief scout he brought with him from Wigan) could have sanctioned that transfer is beyond me. I struggle to believe even that pair are so incompetent and that there weren't brown envelopes involved.

Safer, otherwise a player who thinks he's world class and wants to play in the Champions League might decide to join Everton instead. My worry is he might like money more than the Champions League and we'll blow Juve out of the water for wages. Moshiri is supposedly sanctioning daft amounts. Witsel was apparently offered well over £100k/week and he's nothing special.

Everton and Juve willing to meet £35m valuation for Sissoko according to Andy Hunter who is usually spot on with Everton news. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jul/21/juventus-everton-newcastle-moussa-sissoko?CMP=share_btn_tw Praying he'll pick Juve

We're supposed to be trying to sign Mata this summer and already have Barkley. Those two and Wijnaldum couldn't play together. I can see Wijnaldum being a fall back option in case Mata goes elsewhere.

Martinez in a nutshell. The "reads the game" comment is the most insane. Never seen a player read the game worse than Cleverley. He runs round like a headless chicken, reacting to the play seconds later than everyone else. It's like watching someone play FIFA for the first time.
-
Mind blowing that you never had a 4G pitch or staff to look after new foreign signings. I thought Everton were badly run under Kenwright but even we've had staff doing that for the last 10/15 years
-
I was never impressed with him at Man Utd but watching him in person, Gibson is actually a very good centre mid when he's fit. Excellent passing range. Problem is, he's never fit so I hope his new deal is heavily appearance-based. Cleverly on the other hand, is absolutely fucking woeful and sadly, was always fit and always picked by Martinez. Hope Koeman bombs him out.

Supposed to have held talks with De Boer and Pellegrini already, followed by Emery in the next few days. Rumour is that Koeman is still the number one target though. I'd be happy with Emery or Koeman. Not so much the other two. Imagine being an Everton fan and turning your nose up at Frank De Boer and Manuel Pellegrini. I'll have what you're having fella... From what I've read of De Boer, he had a Ronny Deila-esque European record with Ajax, he plays Van Gaal-esque s*** football and his own fans are glad to see the back of him. He also wouldn't be able to bring the only decent coaches from his backroom staff with him. No thanks. As for Pellegrini, we've just got rid of a soft touch who couldn't get the best out of his players, couldn't organise the defence and couldn't change his tactics. Why bring in a manager who had all the same faults at City? He's a big name but I think he'd do a poor job. Pellegrini got to the latter stages of the Champions League with two clubs of a similar type to Everton ffs Not sure what he did with Spanish teams 10 years ago and 3 years ago is more relevant that what he's just done in our league.

I went to the Bernabeu when I was a kid sometime around 2000. We thought you'd be able to do a stadium tour, club shop etc as we'd done at the Nou Camp years earlier but there was absolutely fuck all going on down there. Everything shut, no tours, no shop, no staff around. Just had to do a lap of the place with nothing to look at except big, ugly concrete columns covered in racist graffiti about Nicolas Anelka. Great times -
Imagine paying a fiver for that
